I would rather have Shamet who can go games without playing but then get put into the rotation and defend a bit and space the floor. We don't have a lot of shooters with range on this team.

I'm not on board. But either if I was, I don't think he'd be down with collecting DNP's.

Personally I think I would have preferred bringing back Shamet and possibly taking a chance on Simmons instead of bringing in Clarkson. I know there is always an emphasis on offense but they weren't a good team on defense last year. Clearly it will be difficult to play certain lineups together on offense but the team has the same issues on defense. I honestly don't think they could even run a 5 man defensive unit at this point as Hart's defense was pretty disappointing last season. They have Deuce, Mikal, OG and Mitch when healthy.
Playing Simmons with Hart and Mitch would be difficult but Hart's minutes need to come down significantly imo especially now that he has reached 30 as an energy/effort guy and Mitch and Simmons minutes probably need to be limited throughout the regular season. They have 2 guys that were stretch 5's last year in KAT and Yabu. Brunson is one the better shooters in the league. They also have OG, Deuce and hopefully a more consistent Mikal that can space the floor.

For what this team still needs he is kinda a perfect fit. More true ball handling behind Brunson and an additional high level defensive chess piece that can defend 1 to 5. For the vet min how could anyone NOT be on board with that?

Doesn't manner what the team needs. Does he want to be back in the NY area after being so polarized here? And is he going to be down with collecting DNP?

They needed some potential scoring jump from Clarkson off the bench. Yes your going to have to real in some of his shot selection. But they needed someone that could go get a bucket outside of Brunson if the offense gets too stagnant. It will be up to Brown and the coaching staff to tell Clarkson this isn't Utah and he doesn't have a green light to jack up shots especially if he's playing with KAT and the offense should flow through him.

DNPs? Why? His value as a defensive stopper and ballhandler will absolutely get him 10+ minutes a game.

Clarkson, Deuce, Hart/Mitch, Yabusele, and Hukporti seem locked in for the bench. Where are those 10 minutes coming from?

Dammit! Now I want to take a flyer on Simmons again!!His back issues scare the hell out of me though. Ugh!! If we sign him and he is useless it's a minor risk but , if Clarkson sucks too? We would need Kolek and one of Pac or McC to take a leap immediately.
Go get Amir Coffey!

I just don’t like the pretentiousness and cockiness… the defense I’m fine with.
