kinda hoping the knicks don't trade for AD, but if they did and were able to sign KD... is it enough to compete for a title?

say they sent kanter, knox, frank, and 4 1st (including 2019 unprotected). they probably have enough to keep DJ in the fold another year before extending over cap to fit the AD/KD window.

DSJ

deandre/mitch

ring chasers, rookie scales.

does that group have what it takes to win it all? if not, i don't see the point in trading for AD before the summer when you could turn deandre into kyrie or kawhi or klay. or even middleton.
RIP magnumt

thanks for everything, thibs.

We need an Eli Manning type #1 option on the Knicks. Somebody who doesn't let the media get to him. Somebody who doesn't read the tabloids and the NYPost.

With Kevin Durant's burner accounts, I don't think he's the guy.

i am highly concerned it would break him.

I don't know I think his F--k you to the media mentality will fit in perfect with Dolan and the Knicks.

I think it depends on how much DSJr & Mitchell can develop.
I’d prefer to wait until summer for this trade though. Patience is a future. Big 3 better than a Dominate Duo.

Durant alone would probably end up being a huge failure and I could see some major meltdown.

If we can bring in another superstar and build a winner then it could be one of the greatest things the franchise has seen in 20+ years if not since the early 70's teams.

Seems like these things either go one way or another and there is not a lot of in between.

Perry's vision is to get Durant, reel in Kyrie, get the Pels to give us AD if this year's pick is top 2 (hoepfully convince them to swap), keep the youth, and fill out the bench by way of VETERAN'S MINIMUMS.

In GM Perry's mind: I GOT THIS

We set ourselves up for this though. No true rebuild and the kids don’t look that great.

We could easily go into true rebuild from here, but not sure if that will happen or not. There are so many different ways we can go from here it will interesting to see how it goes.

Well, good news is that it looks like a true rebuild now. Worst team in the nba and we traded the franchise player for a young prospect and first round draft picks

1) One legitimate organization (Macs) has entered the max contract convo (they now have 32 to 37 mil in cap space) = more competition

2) If they end up using that cap space nicely, those 2021 and 2023 picks will not be pretty for us

Pretty sure they are going to go hard at Vucevic with a Max offer.

Yeah this is what i was hearing when they made the trade for KP. He's a better Kanter cause he can do everything Kanter does around the basket and do it a little better but he can also shoot the ball all the way out to the 3 point line and just like Kanter he can't/doesn't play defense.

I am all for a slow cook, or a slow rebuild like that of sixers or even bucks did, and pull the trigger when we are ready to compete. If big fish don't come this summer, wait for the next summer.

We not only have the money to sign two max players but also have the trade assets to trade for another high salary player like AD or B.Beal or one of D.Lilliard/CJ McCollum or M.Conley but we have to sign the two max players first and then make the trade.

I really hope he pulls it off and if he does he will be a legend. A lot can go wrong too...hoping for the best, preparing for the worst

If KD and Irving came over, I am more concerned with Irving and the media. KD seems to get angry while Irving seems to get emotional (sometimes angry, sometimes soft, all over).

It is too bad we have "fans" that eat up all of the media nonsense, the ones chanter for Kanter every game. Those are the ones that buy into the media garbage.

I feel like we should set our sights on this guy:

I’m a happy camper if we end up like this next year with room for a max headed in to next summer.
