Sounds like free agency has already begun in secret.

Yup that’s what I was thinking too. Probably the biggest perk of having a couple of agents as the heads of your front office. Who are the biggest CAA clients that free agents are this offseason?

Wiretap says "Mavs want to add a 3rd star"

When did they add the second one? :-)

Uh, no.

This will probably turn into another semantic debate about what the word "star" is.

I'll just leave it at, if KP is a "star", then so is D'Angelo Russell and so is Andrew Wiggins.

And I don't think they are "stars".

Stars are, to me, top of the top players in the league. KP, Russell and Wiggins are "good players"

Has Russell and Wiggins ever had a top 15 top selling jersey?

When healthy KP has had a bigger impact than those 2 players

The problem is he just can't stay on the court

I'm not saying KP is a superstar. Just an all-star caliber player

KP got the bogus NYC hype bump

Also, Cuban is being smart and slick here.

He says he has "two stars" by saying he's looking to add a 3rd

The inference is that KP is the 2nd star. KP and Janis get to fell all important.
Meanwhile, Cuban probably thinks KP is more the 3rd option/very good player, but he again, he zooms up KP and Janis, plus creates some fake hype for a bogus "Big 3", since people like that kind of thing.

KP's more like Parrish to Bird\McHale or Grant to Jordan\Pippen, where the mystery star Cuban wants is the real 2nd star.

Pretty clever by him. I don't have to fall for it though.

Russell is better than KP by a pretty wide margin. I'd rather have the last 4 years of Wiggins than the last 4 years of KP. And jersey sales don't win games.

I'm actually pretty shocked about this. I figured that Morey would get the Hinkie treatment and would be blackballed from the league. I'm glad it's not happening. Honestly, wish we got rid of Perry and brought him in.

Morey is not going to take order from Leon Rose.

Huge move though.

I like it. I wish we had the foresight to hire someone like Morey but we usually get stuck with Dolan's friends or celebrities.

He'd rather take orders from Elton Brand though? I almost think taking orders from Brand is worse than from Rose. Brand is as incompetent as they come and has completely botched everything Hinkie had done.

Brand is taking orders from him.

Brand is the GM, he's the President of Basketball Operations.
