That would be amazing. Hopefully she keeps the momentum building, because so far so good. X-Men 97, Acolyte, and House of Dragons coming back soon...it's like all my favorite paperback media that television/movies were ruining are suddenly correcting course at the same time.

That may just be wishful thinking...but I have some hopes!

Getting back to anime/manga, CSM 168 dropped half an hour ago

Spoiler:
Pretty good follow-up chapter, while I think it didn't lean as much into the "this is f*cked up for both Asa and Denji" as I wanted, it doesn't fix Denji. That panel of him sitting alone in the alley with his head hung is great, and his thousand yard stare on the train kinda cements it. It's kinda weird that Asa doesn't mention the cum hand, is just upset about the kiss, but her and Yoru fighting is pretty funny. I'm just glad he didn't turn it into a joke where Denji became incredibly focused, it's just more of the "Denji gets something he wants, but realizes how unsatisfying it was because it isn't what he needs" theme

It is worrying to me that now Asa is talking about being hungry, and then immediately after we see Fami on the train. I don't trust her for a second, and both Denji and Asa being hungry when she has the power to control people who are hungry seems like a Chekov's gun, but given we see the sushi restaurant, I hope they're gonna eat enough to not be hungry anymore

Also, the sign out front saying "Fresh Raw Fish Testes" definitely feels like setup for a joke where someone (probably Asa) eats one, or maybe the joke is that the other sign says "Jumbo Salmon Roe", so it's the sexual organs of both sexes of fish.

Chainsaw Man Chapter 168

Spoiler:
I'm glad Asa punched Yoru. Or herself? Whatever. That was warranted.

Poor Denji. He's so lost right now. At least we know for sure now that she really does like him.

Death by Sushi. Man that was an ominous last page

And Asa hates sushi :o :o :o .

Spoiler:
I wonder what Denji's look at the end of the chapter was. It looks like he's seeing Asa but with a surprised face. I'm curious if it's related to Yoru letting the cat out of the bag. "Only the other me likes you. Her feelings flowed into me."

Denji made a couple of comments about Asa's behavior confusing him. I'm guessing he finally "figured it out," but the joke will be that instead of assuming she's a hybrid, he'll just think she has multiple personalities or something.

Also, as the Asa/Yoru merger comes to more light, it makes me rethink some of Denji's habits. Maybe the dog stuff really was Pochita's personality creeping through. It could also explain that period when he laughed like a lunatic and told Nayuta to run. Pochita's feelings slipped through.

Spoiler:
Yeah I'm starting to suspect that Denji/Pochita could be bleeding into each other's being like Asa/Yoru. If we got back to Part 1 there could be clues about that as well.

Season one was almost like a prologue. They did it well, but had to pack a LOT into a single season. Now, the real story starts to build and the action picks up. I'm pretty sure we'll get to see one of the Tower's legends before the end of this season too.

I see that the art style is changing to go along with how the art changed in the original manwha after the first part ended. I don't know what will happen from here on out.

Rachel is f*cking scum. I look forward to seeing what kind of crap she pulls this season.

Acolyte episode 3 was pretty solid

Answers a couple questions, gives speculation for others, opens a few more

Somewhat disappointing to have the entire episode be a flashback, especially this early on in the show (would've probably worked better if they released the first 3 episodes at once), but eh.

Rachel is genuinely one of my most hated characters in any anime/manga/manwha. She was just warming up in season one!

The best villain of the entire series probably won't show up until season three, but you'll get characters to hate and some really interesting floor games throughout this season and next.

Looking forward to all of it.

And yeah, Rachel is a piece of work  you know you're a good character when your behavior illicits a visceral response from people like she does. I was heated at the end of season 1

On Frieren episode 8 now…the fight scenes are short but they’re well animated and they look awesome.

Story feels nostalgic but slow so far. I like the demons showing up though, and having Stark show up brought in some needed contrast and humor to the group

Any Star Trek fans here? I thought the season 2 cliffhanger of Strange New Worlds was pretty intense. Looking forward to season 3.

And Star-Fleet Academy starts next year. Paul Giammati & Holly Hunter cast so far, as perhaps professors at the academy? The show will focus on students. I'm looking forward to it.
Go Knicks!! Go Mets!!

As for the Jets . . . just keep it entertaining.

Frieren and Dungeon Meshi both show exactly what Isekai anime are missing

They're just good shows, and as someone who read Dungeon Meshi to the end, it remained hilarious throughout.

What's really frustrating about Isekai anime, is even the good ones can't capture what the light novels did. Mushoku Tensei the anime can't convey all the psychological aspects that the Light Novel does. So Rudeus' growth and development just doesn't hit like it does in the light novel. On the one hand, they do their best to show that it's a narrative about overcoming trauma...on the other hand, there's no quick and easy way to convey Rudeus' confusion, misunderstandings, and trauma responses in 20-minute episode formats.

...and the rest of the Isekai that had interesting and new POV's all got dropped after one season. Grimgar of Fantasy and Ash coulda been a game changer :nonono:

Keep going. The fights get even better.

Stark is my favorite character next to Frieren, Himmel and The Corrupt Priest

Actually Himmel is #1. GOAT character
