Did Lebron really start the superteam though? He left Cleveland because he couldn't beat the Boston superteam. KG-Allen-Pierce really started the whole Big 3 trend. I know people will say Ainge put that team together but iirc KG said that the only way he will go to Boston is if they can get Ray Allen.

They were 3 stars over 30 years old. They passed their prime without much success. Their teams looked for a rebuilding so their move was acceptable.

Bosh, Wade, Lebron were 3 franchise players in their primes. They had many options. Many teams wanted to make any of those as their number 1 player but they formed a superteam with slight paycuts.

Did anyone see LeBron make a fool of himself with that video after shaving his head? What an unbelievable idiot.

LeBron and KD are delusional as hell if they truly believe they never played for a superteam,

Miami were a superteam up to the point when they won the title against OKC. Heat stopped being a superteam after that because Wade couldnt perform at a championship level anymore. At least Miami was challenged by a few teams. Pacers, Spurs twice and Dallas. And it was LeBron's own damn fault for losing against Dallas.

And KD, please man. Warriors won a title 2 years ago, then followed that up with an historic 73-9 record, on the way to the finals they crushed your soul in the playoffs enough for you to give up and join them. Cmon dog. They already had the 2x reigning MVP and 1st ever unanimous MVP, had a DPOY candidate in Draymond Green, and one of the best SG's in the NBA in Klay. And KD, to me is the 2nd best player in the league, and he added himself to that team. Lets not forget Iguodala either. Thats a superteam brother.

You may not like Phil Jackson's running of the Knicks...and that's fair but Phil knows how to call a spade, a spade. Lebron literally moves around with a "posse."

I've said this so many times when Lebron posted his "Get togethers." He's an opportunist. He wants to be a business mogul. He is changing the game where the players call their shots. He's manipulating free agency.

But they still played at a really high level for about 3 years and made it to the Finals 2 out of those 3 years. Like I said they started the trend and opened up a lot of peoples eyes. Lebron basically saw that and figured he didn't want to wait for the window of opportunity to close on him and wait until he was in his 30s to play on a contender. I'm not sure if he would have done that had the Celtics not done what they did.

The first super team that I remember (and one that failed) was when Malone and Payton went to the Lakers to try to win another finals.

Can you imagine guarding him in his prime. "Oh, and by the way - he's faster than you too. Good luck."

Shaq did say he only showed 30% of his game in his prime. Can you imagine a Shaq in this era bullying you in the paint and then stepping out and knocking down 3s :o
