agreed. links or it didnt happen.

You serious? Spree fell apart on his own so we didn't get a chance to turn on him, but Houston? There are people still on this board today (I wont call out names) that killed him for his 100 Million dollar contract. With Ewing people couldn't wait for Marcus Camby to replace him because he was "slow and old". I think some were happy he tore his achilles before the finals against Indiana. They weren't so happy during the finals though when David Robinson and Tim Duncan destroyed us due to lack of size.

We should give it to tim hardaway jr since lee wears his old #5 jersey now and the #10 THJ used on the Hawks is retired by Clyde already

But I'm what's wrong with the forum?

No, you're just very passionate about the Knicks. That's okay because we all love the team, but you're constantly criticizing everyone on a personal level for expressing their own opinions.

Exactly.
We need to stop it.
It took us how many years to get another star?

So the next star we will have will be in 2027.

Let the wait begin.

The knicks screwed up putting talent around him, sure. The melo trade drained all of our assets to get another star, was terrible. Using the amnesty on Chauncey to get Tyson instead of waiting a year for Cp3. Both of those were mistakes.

But melo did his fair share to contribute to the losing culture and era he played in. Not adapting his game to fit the best style of the team. Not adapting to the new era of ball movement. Never giving any effort on defense. Getting coaches fired. Deliberately sabotouging a team president and trying to turn the locker room on him. Everyone had a role to play but melo could have made this whole situation a lot better. He has no one to blame but himself for the way he is going out

Name one coach he got fired. FIRED. Not quit. FIRED.

Trading a pick for Bargs? All good right?

The president threw him under the bus, not the other way around.

You want to come at his play, fair game. But you are lying about a whole lot and ignoring so much just to scapegoat the one guy who brought anything of relevance, no matter how minor, to this franchise in a decade plus.

He forced out dantoni man. Fired, quit, what's the difference when you give an ultimatum of him or melo to the owner? Funny thing is, dantoni was the first one to use melo as a power forward in an uptempo system that featured point guards and got forced out for it.

Trading a pick for bargs was awful. But CAA was running the organization a team the time. Literally had everyone from grundwald, to Woodson who they forced to sign with them, to melo and Chris smith under their agency. Can't tell me it didn't have Melos stamp of approval. It was his agents pushing stupid moves thinking we were in contention.

Phil threw him under the bus but no one knows what that locker room was like all year. Sounds like melo has been trying to turn the team on phil rambis and the triangle way beforehand. Like I said, knicks made mistakes. But still should have been way better if we really had a star player. Melo has as much if not more blame for the situation he is in

Mike D'Antoni had Melo standing in the corner just like he did Gallo and just like he's doing Ariza.

Mike has no bend and was already on the hot seat. That's why Woody was brought in....which is the same damn reason why he left PHX. He sucks as a defensive coach.

Yeah, it got ugly towards the end. Barkley still references this every once in a while.

he wanted out at the end. he had enough. he made that trade happen.

Rightfully so. He played through every injury in the book. When he tore his wrist up, he shot both free throws with his left hand just because he didn't want to be ruled out for the rest of the game. He was a warrior. Shortly after, most fans came to their senses and realized what they had done and how unfair they were. That was on a wayyyyyy different level than Melo. It was at least 10-15 times worse at the end.

I don't think this forum existed. I fought for Marbury though. Back when posters like bluenorange = posters like blueseats :) Same battle different players/posters

You know I think you're forgetting about the original Marbury hater. ahem ahem

We went to game 7 of the Eastern Conference Finals. Melo never even sniffed that as a Knick. Please. I watched a lot of Bernard King. Melo can't hold his jock strap and I don't care what Melo's numbers are. He never had, nor will have, Bernard King's heart.

I legit cried when we traded spree. Cried even more when he was callin our bench out. I was just a young lad

Me too man I loved spree. I memba the highlights of him cursing off Dolan and seeing Dolan looking all droopy and fat like Eor from the winnie the pooh and being like "so THAT'S James dolan"

New York Knick fans can be terrible at times. Meanwhile, Zach Randolph is about to get his jersey retired in Memphis. Funny how that works...
