Some dude on the Knickfantv Podcast called him the "tekashi 69" of the draft :D :D :D

Riller has one of the best first steps in the draft. You don't have to take my word for it either:

Don't see it. Like I said the comp was so weak, so I guess he can look like that against guys who have no shot to ever make the NBA but for an NBA level player I don't see his first step being anywhere close to elite. Now it doesn't have to be for him to still have success in the league but I'm not sold on his shot making and scoring at a high level when he gets to the NBA. He looks like a solid NBA backup though.

I understand what you're saying about his level of comp. but I think you're still underselling his athleticism, ball handling, and his shot.

Not sure I see any elite skill in him as far as what is going to translate to the next level. I think he can be a solid guard off the bench but I don't know if I can see anything more than that.

Haliburton is the new Evan Turner. They even both have a goofy vibe to them.

maybe the vibe. But Haliburton is a far far far better shooter on significant more volume. That is the big difference. As we know in the NBA if you can shoot it opens up everything. If Haliburton couldn't shoot then the Turner comp is more accurate outside of the frame.

Yeah, Turner probably would have been really good if he could shoot, that being said Haliburton isn't as good as Turner was in most other areas coming out. I think it is a solid comp and they are both goofy, lmao.

yes and no. Turner def would have been legit with a trust worthy shot. Same for a guy like Tyreke Evans.

I guess that is why I put Haliburton a notch below those guys because he is a better passer than both and he can shoot it far far better. Both qualities I like in a guard. Those other guys played more downhill getting to the FT more. So there play styles are different.

I'm not a huge comp guy but he plays very much like Malcolm Brogdon (not being as thick of course  )

But that is the playstyle you will see. Low usage, highly efficient, good passer, good team defender.

I will say I think Halliburton is more in play if they do plan on getting Oladipo or CP3 to take the heavy lifting of the offense away from him...

But if that isn't the case? I'm not as sold on Halliburton for this roster specifically. One of the more situation-dependent players in this draft IMO.

Goofy vibe? By all accounts Haliburton is the perfect teammate and a very high character individual.

also some say he is one of the smartest players in the draft (high bbiq). I never considered Evan Turner a high bbiq guy.

Those traits aren't necessarily mutually exclusive to goofy vibes :) .

Watch his interview with Schmitz and compare it to others. It's clear his IQ is definitely a notch or 2 above the vast majority of prospects in this draft.

My concerns with him are almost all physical and mechanical.

No more slow foot PGs.

I want speed, pushing the fast breaks and break down dribble penetration ability in a PG that can shoot, pass and finish sufficiently enough plus has some defensive energy.

There's only one guy like that who has the potential upside of star player and will be available at 8.....only one.

Haliburton: 23 points, 11 rebounds, 9 assists
Lewis: 8 points, 5 assists, 4 rebounds

Haliburton locked him up and destroyed him offensively

My draft predictions: Knicks keep the 8th pick and take Devin Vassell, but trade up from the 27th pick to the 20th pick by trading Payton and 2 2nd round pick (this year's and Charlotte's) to Miami. Take Tyrell Terry.

Haliburton was one of the best players in transition....finished in the 93rd percentile in transition offense. He loves pushing the ball and is great out on the break
