Putting on my Knicks-colored glasses for WORST case scenarios here:

Hayes - Drafted a lot earlier than people think he will be, not there when Knicks pick

Haliburton - Goes right before Knicks pick to the Pistons

Kira - Knicks pass on him because he is considered a "reach" at 8 by the barstool sports mock drafts of the world and this is the EXACT type of player that goes to the Celtics and thrives for years and years under Ainge.

Vassell - Knicks select him or Okoro. Vassell/Okoro goes on to play decent-to-good defense but ultimately proves to be yet another role player as we fail to score 80 points a game. Meanwhile Knicks fans cry to the heavens a la the Hilary Clinton "Nooooo" voter meme that they can't seem to get "lucky" enough to draft a scorer...while somehow completely ignoring that they could have gotten their pick of Kira, Nesmith, Precious, Hampton, and (Jesus) even Toppin, Malachi Flynn and Cole Anthony who all proceed to have success scoring for their other, more well-run teams.

Oh man, this is happening, isn't it?

You might end up being very right on draft day.

We are Knicks fans,

so let's pray and hope things go right for once.

That dark cloud over MSG will eventually leave sometime this century. 8-)

I wouldn't hate the Okoro pick, especially MAYBE in the context of Knicks sign FVV for PG, but honestly, he's about my 5th pick, though at one point I had sold myself on him.

My broken record comment... The NBA is a league of SHOOTERS, the successful teams have that!! Okoro doesn't provide that. His offensive game is centered around driving, kickouts, and finishing at the rim.

Vassell is not a drive to the rim type of guy at all. His game is more of spot up shooter.

On an Atlanta team... Okoro is the better selection alongside Trae (who Okoro could play well off and with). There's noone on the Knicks who can open it up for Okoro to drive. The defense will close in and make him an afterthought.

On a Knicks team... the defense has to be concerned about Mitch catching lobs and RJ is a stud but not a great outside shooter yet. RJ likes to get to the rim as well and needs someone who can catch and shoot when he gets sandwiched. Okoro just isn't that guy

I think Okoro can improve as a shooter. But its a very risky pick to be made at #8. The rest of the roster will not help him to play at his strengths.

If we have a guy we like at 8 you don't trade a quarter for three dimes in sports. Take the quarter. Hell, offer a dime and trade up to get our guy before taking a trade down. If our guy(s) are gone, you then entertain offers like that.

I don’t get the FVV hate. Like am I the only one that saw this man hit clutch shot after clutch shot his entire career and play pesky defense? He’s a great supporting free agent for the youth and fits that Thibs mold. Worried about 22 million like Look at what some bums around the league is making. If we get rid of Randle and do not take on a long term deal FVV is basically replacing Randle on the books which is a huge W. Do we splurge on another free agent is the ? And for how much? Need lots of shooting.
