I dunno.
I think Bryant is the guy.
I see zero reason to spend draft capital to get Dallas to give up Jason Kidd.
We have a lot of good pieces on this roster. I wanna give this guy a chance.

I think that this is a good group. We just need some structure and a total team effort to achieve consistency

thibs didn't tell them not to do it. KAT can't screen.

Amiwrong?
Or is KAT beyond help?
I don't think that can be true
For all of Tom's bluster I think he's a lazy coach who forgot how to teach and enforce fundamentals
we know you hate him. he gone, bro. he not coming back.
think of all the strange things in KAT's game no one has been able to coach him to do yet. screening is one of those things.
he's been a **** screener for 10 years. he's been hooking arms for no damn reason for 10 years. i love the man, but there's a laundry list. sam mitchell. ryan saunders. finch. thibs twice. it's him, man. we take the bad with the good.
crazy part is this was arguably his best season with the LEAST of his negatives on display.
I really don't know enough about KAT's past so I'll take your word on it. The hooking in this last series was bananas.
but you're right, I've been anti-Thibs for years now. The trauma will fade with time
This is satisfying though because

I agree Buzz but if Kidd is available they will probably pick him...Hopefully the mavs say no and we get Bryant.

Giannis is way more valuable than those 3 yes. You would have serious depth and balance concerns. Giannis wants to score...Brunson is a natural scorer and a passer second. Obviously KAT needs the ball. Would KAT be a 3rd option...if he's a 3rd option is he defending enough to warrant his scoring taking a hit?
Then you would need shooting at the 2 and 3 but also a POA defender (I guess that would be McBride). Then you would need another quality defending 3 that could shoot as well. I don't think you could start Hart with Giannis for spacing problems.
With the CBA it certainly would be a challenge to fill out the rest of the starters.
Would the new CBA have some allowance for players deals which are already in effect? Would think they’d have to.
I dunno.

Great to have him as coach, even better to watch him dismantle Pat the Rat's team.

Knicks have so little draft capital left, they aren't spending it on coach compensation.

It’s all smokes and mirrors
Knicks didn’t want to make it look too obvious since Bryant was close to taking the phx job
They’re just saying they’re conducing a thorough coach search to make it seem like they’re doing a due diligence, but they already had their guy in Bryant a while ago.

Re: Breaking: Tom Fired
I mean Kidd did a really good job last year with the Mavs who had two guys who were offense first in the starting lineup.
I don't think it's worth hiring him if you have to surrender a draft pick but he definitely is very experienced and has coached or been on the staff of a lot of good teams.

That's crazy talk.
The team didn't know.
In all likelihood the timeline went like this.
The lengthy discussion between Team management and Thibs was Monday. Also they probably discussed how to break it to the Team and media outlet.
Additionally, the Knicks surely paid for that party and didn't want the news to.cloud the hard earn festivities and the possible last time that they'll all be together. Perhaps and particulaly Payne and Precious. So no, the boys probably found out during a team meeting on Tuesday and then Shams got the call.
It's non-sense that the team was celebrating the bad news, it would far from their character and plus Thibs is practically family to Jalen.
