Dallas didn't want him enough or Knicks were unwilling to give him up?! What is Dallas doing with PG position anyway?

Or we didn’t want to trade him

Perhaps, but I find it weird considering Fizdale said his role for now is a backup PG.

On the same night in which Doncic learned he did not make the NBA All-Star team, the Mavericks acquired a reigning All-Star in Porzingis and, according to a league source, now will set their sights on a summer addition of a 28-year-old center who on Thursday became an All-Star himself.

He is 7-foot Orlando center Nikola Vucevic.
He will become an unrestricted free agent at season's end. And one of his agents is Bill Duffy, who also represents Doncic.

KP's a reining all star?

Hyperbole much?

Gotta love the press.

For real Jordan and Matthews need to be traded or cut. Could the NBA office step in if the Knicks bench them like they did Kanter? It's an obvious sign of tanking lol

Plus it will just create more turmoil and make the Knicks organization look bad if they just bench these two.

My replay is based on wrong assumptions? WTF is that supposed to even mean?

You're coming into a Knicks forum less than 24 hours after we traded KP and you have the audacity to ask why we didn't include our lottery pick from last year so you can have your little utopic European triumvirate in Dallas?

In the famous words of every Knick poster on this forum- STFU and GTFO of here.

My replay is based on wrong assumptions? WTF is that supposed to even mean?

It means you use straw man argument and have low IQ.

You are assuming that I am mavs fan ("You already got KP in the deal") probably based on my favorite team logo, while I literally changed my favorite team from knicks to mavs a couple hours ago.

You assume that I don't know who is Frank (You are explaining to me that "He's 6 "6 and defends 3 positions.") is while he has been my 2nd favorite knicks player ever since he was drafted and I have supported him on this forum.

You assume that I mean include Frank with other trade peaces unchanged ("You already got KP in the deal, you want our lottery pick from last year as well? why we didn't include our lottery pick from last year").

Excuse us, you aren't a Mavs fan. You are one of those b*tchass posters who follow one player - probably KP, and wanted to fulfill your goal of the Knicks giving away your 2nd favorite player, just because it pleases you.

Sorry for mistaking for for a fan of a team.

For KP:

Big Upside: Playing with Doncic should open up the game for him. A giant like him should be an easy target for Luka. KP could feast.

Big Test: The Western Conference will put KP through the ringer and he'll have to grind as he plays a few extra games a year against better teams.

Questions: Who takes a beating in the paint for Dallas to preserve KP? Will he remain primarily a perimeter player?

Lol it’s funny that mostly every single analyst, including ex NBA players are saying we either won the trade or finally made the right decision but Knick fans are crying.

Could we have traded him when Phil wanted to and not signed Timmy... absolutely! But we didn’t and Perry wasn’t here. So what we did NOW is what was best considering the circumstances.

5 major things from the trade

1. We have completely cleared the books while still keeping 4 of our rookies

2. We have 7 draft picks in 5 years

3. We added a point gaurd on a rookie deal that a lot of us around here wanted and that other NBA players look at as solid player

4. Say what you want but if it wasn’t KP fans would be ready to burn down the house if we offered a similar player 30mil coming off an ACL injury, that had knee and back problems already and only can play at a high level for 3-4 months. Not to say KP isn’t skilled but it’s concerns.

5. Say we would’ve kept KP and all he did was sign the QO as it been reported. That leaves us with Timmy still in the books, missing out on free agency, and without extra picks.

The most significant aspect of this deal for me is gaining assets (DSJ and two first round picks) and not capspace.

But the fact that we cleared the books and the only asset we had to give up was the one player who was about to get (over)paid was a stroke of genius on Mills and Perry's part.

add Vonleh to that mix as well.

We should be in 2nd round pick asset acquisition right now. Try to get 2nd rounders and less productive expiring's for all of them.

kings fans seem to be willing to do a z-bo/koufus trade + two 2nd rounders for Deandre Jordan (that is an easy yes from the knicks as well).

Matthews makes a lot so I'm not sure what we would be able to find for him in terms of straight expirings from a good team. Maybe just do a Jabari for Wes Matthews + Lance Thomas type swap. Save 1 million for next year.

Vonleh maybe you can get a couple seconds or even maybe a late first from a team like the sixers....

Easily move mudiay to a team needing a backup pg for a 2nd rounder.

Kante will be a buyout.

I hate when these guys talk about Knicks fans as one unit like we all agree with each other. They always say oh Knicks fans are wrong about this for not liking this deal but we aren't all the same and there are fans that understand how good this deal is for the Knicks. Some fans are fans that just like going to games and don't really care about watching when these college kids do their workouts or care about looking towards the future and get into all other stuff besides just going to or watching games and some fans like to watch prospects and talk about trades and know how to look to the future and not only live in the now.

Knowing the Knicks....

KP comes back this season saying he was ready to go by now and plays well enough with Doncic that they sneak into the 8th seed.

Then the Knicks wind up with the worst record but get the 5th pick and take a meh 6-5 volume shooting guard.

In FA with dreams of two max superstars fans are slapped awake when the Knicks sign Kemba and Blake to the longest most expensive contracts they can.

Get ready for it kids......you know it's going to go down like this.
If you'd rather see your team fail so you can be right
...you are a fan of your opinion not the team.
