reddish's problem is more than just motor. he has far better motor on defense than rj.

it's the lack of athleticism and ability to make quick decisions on his drives. dude's handle is also bad.

RJ is weird defensively. Beyond being too upright, it's like he sticks with the play just fine, but gives up on the first obstacle.

Nothing actually removes him from staying on ball, he just gives up immediately.

I can see the Lakers taking Cam, just to use the same reasoning as us taking RJ when it comes to AD trade talks.
Say you can have Cam and Zion together to comfort each other as rookies.
