With Durant coming off Achilles tendon surgery, one NBA executive and one Achilles specialist said they believe long-term compensation should rise as a stronger consideration. Durant will be 32 when he debuts for his new/old team — in 2020-21.

A leading Achilles expert, Dr. Anish Kadakia, of Northwestern University, has reviewed studies showing 85 percent of NBA players who suffer Achilles tendon ruptures don’t last more than two seasons after their return.

According to Kadakia, 68 percent return and 32 percent never play again. Further, it takes until the second season back for the player to return to his normal ability, taking into consideration “aged matched controls,” he said.

keep in mind, most of the guys who have done it were at or near retirement age.

Kemba was probably that one dude that grew up in the Bronx but was a Celtics fan growing up.

He went to school at Uconn. People out there are 50/50 New York or Boston fans. So hes prob used to Celtics fans cheering for him.

So he is used to being called the N-word by his own fans you're saying

He's a career 30.5% shooter from behind the arc which is actually what RJ averaged at Duke from the 3 point line.

If he gets his % up to 35 %- a 4.5% increase from his career average, he'll be extremely valuable. That's not a dramatic or unrealistic expectation.

Totally agree. A lot of people think you need to shoot 38-40% plus in order to be an asset offensively. It's really closer to 35%. If that guy is an elite defender, can handle the ball, can dish it and is coachable... that's a player. That's essentially a PG version of Danny Green.

He's really only a plus as a handler and passer from the SG spot. For PGs, he's pretty bad. Even in the open gym, he looks kinda sluggish and methodical compared to what you want from a PG. You move him to SG though, and he's at least not terrible in terms of handling and vision

I think 35% is the floor for a player like him, you really want it to be more in the 37, 38% range. But if he does that, he should have a long, solid career

It’s wild. He literally was a Knick fan, at least through jr high & high school.
I vividly remember barbers at the barbershop talking about the Knicks trading for T-Mac at the time & Kemba was there too hoping Lebron would sign with the Knicks.
Meanwhile, one of the barbers were trying to be Kemba’s agent  looking up his future draft stock.

I just think he doesn’t want the environment and free loading people around him. That or feelings just change.

Of course there's another super team forming... But it's on the west coast.

Nice going, NBA.

I still see that hitch, I'm hoping he can get become a knockdown 3PT shooter, because his potential is really high

I truly believe that if his shot comes around, it's going to open up the rest of his game. There's a lot of PG's who don't have John Walls or Derrick Roses quickness/speed. Billups, Conley, Lowry... heck even Steph's speed was and is questionable. Billups is a good guy to look at because his shot really wasn't working for him either his first 3 years. He also didn't average many assists early - less than 4 per game for his first 4 years. Then, he gained confidence, his shot became very good and it opened up everything. You don't have to possess elite quickness. You just have to make the defense guard you and go over the screen.

Still a lot of time to go but DSJR jumper still need work. Wasn’t impressed with the video at all. This why I been saying he need to be working as hard as the other kids.

RJ has completely changed his form this summer and it looks WET!!

I think his FT % is more important since he can get to the paint at will and essentially live at the FT line.

I think a decent amount of it is mental and also that hitch he has/had in his shot. He did average over 70% from the line at NC state; usually players don't trend downward in FT% when they turn pro.

If he can get his FT shooting to around 75% it could really help his overall numbers. It looked like he was a bit timid to get to the paint at times and make contact with opposing defenders because of his FT woes.
