Yea, it seemed that way, especially with the 1 year deal. Guess they could keep him around in a lesser role. Or maybe he will be phased out and will move on eventually. Probably not a big deal either way. Rose and his guys will be calling the shots.

my dream is he is just keeping the seat warm for Bobby Webster when his contract runs out at the end of next year.

So it looks like Leon from his prior job knew certain guys who were good at their jobs but had hit their ceiling in promotions at their own teams and brought them here.

ideally, given the "growth strategy" background, this FO will accumulate draft picks (using their cap space to take on contracts) rather than overpay B/C level FA's who dont add much in terms of W's and take away playing time from young players
