No but I think they have more potential than Vassell. Vassell has a higher floor though and will contribute right now

That's all you see? This kid can jump out the gym and defensively he's already on an elite in college.

Imagine what Thibs will do with Devin?

Most of the highlights I’ve watched his off the dribble game consists of attacking close outs. There’s not a lot of wiggle in his handle, it’s mostly straight line drives. That just screams 3&D to me, at least off the bat. Since he’s got a nice pull up game, I wouldn’t be shocked to see him develop into something more. It’s why I really like the Middleton comp. I don’t really see jump out the gym athleticism either. He’s an NBA athlete for sure but he doesn’t get to the rim a lot in the half court. I like him but don’t love him, I certainly wouldn’t complain if we drafted him at 8 but at 6? I think there would be someone better there.

At the 8-10 range i'm a easy yes on Vassell but even at 6-7 i wouldn't be mad at it, but of course it depends on who's still on the board. Like many of us have come around on Deni so if Deni and Vassell are sitting there am i going with Vassell and his great shooting and defense and i think that there's even more then just 3-D to his game or am i going with Deni who got the BBIQ, which i love with any player, and he's really got a good all around game with his shooting which we can clearly see he's worked on and has gotten better and the guy could be a legit point forward with his vision/passing and ability to run the offense.

Tough choice but i'm probably taking my chances with Deni.

Really just depends on who's on the board but i'm a big Vassell fan and have been for a while now.

I think there's definitely an argument that Vassell is better. Vassell is the better shooter, and advanced stats even favor his defense to Okoro's (Vassell w/ higher DRTG and DBPM)

fit is important, if a players skillset doesn't compliment the other main players on the roster, it's more likely said player won't reach their potential

I like Okoro as well but don't you think the Knicks need shooting as well as defense? Okoro isn't even close to as good a shooter as Vassell.

In the NBA? No that's his role. He's got a long way to go to reach anything more than that

Elite team defense, Near elite shooting, hard worker, Great length
, good athleticism, mediocre handle ...He's someone that will contribute immediately and his intangibles rate high. His few weaknesses are improvable , would thrive under Thibs , spreads the floor while not taking away from RJ"S touches....so yes in the NBA I think roleplayer is his floor.

At this point all any of us are doing is painting our own ceilings for every player cause none of us know what these kids will be at the next level where the game is played different and some of these kids' games just fit better in the NBA and some will get drafted to teams that they just fit perfect in and some will get drafted to bad situations for their games and will bust. We won't know who does what anywhere from their 1st to 3rd or 4th years what they'll actually become in the NBA.

If there was a way to know then guys like M.Jordan certainly wouldn't of gone #3 and S.Nash wouldn't of gone #15 and K.Malone #13 and Dray Green #35 and T.Parker #28 and the late great Kobe #13 and Manu #57 and Kawhi Leonard #15 and on and on and on..................

I don't agree that 3D roleplayer is his ceiling. I gave my reason why based on facts about his game, not painting a picture. Thanks for your response.

You gave no facts other than giving me his college numbers. We're talking NBA ceiling, his game, as is right now, is 3D role player even in college that's what he is. 84% of his shots are assisted, in college. He has no Iso scoring ability and whatever he has is very limited. Now transitioning to the NBA he's going to be what? A star? Yeah ok

Wait a minute...are you saying players never become better players in the NBA then they were in college? Sure sounds like that's what you're saying and you obviously couldn't be more wrong since there's tons of cases of that actually not being true.

How about great on ball defender, team defender, super efficient 3 point shooter, solid pull up game especially on close outs, excels in transition due to length/athleticism, and best of all, made massive improvements from freshman to sophomore year.

He has work to do on his iso game and handle so he’s 3 and D lol.....

Vassell would be a better fit with this roster sure, but this whole team is booty and probably needs to be turned over, so the fit isn’t that important to me and I think Okoro has more potential, and I think there’s a better chance of him developing a serviceable shot. His form isn’t even that bad. That’s the only thing that’s missing from his game
