Just realized the Knicks implication of this trade.

Now that Charlotte has a 1st round pick next year, they no longer need to rely on relaxing the protections on the pick they owe us to trade a future first round pick. At least, until next summer and they've already used the Pelicans pick (or conveyed their pick to us).

Oh wow good catch

Not really true. I imagine the pick is not unprotected, so there is always a chance it does not convey. Interesting conversation down the road, perhaps Burks + Knox + Vildozier + Hornets protected pick for Rozier and Nola pick?
If they are not getting Monk back Burks replaces Monk, Vildozer offers a good back up point guard, Knox could be interesting at the 4.

I read that the Knicks are interested in doing a sign and trade for Bullock to go to Dallas. I hope Leon is trying to pry Brunson away from them.

After the last 48 hours, I don't see why anyone posts in the topic. Well, except to make snide remarks like so.

I actually like Brunson, he’s a solid if unspectacular backup who can have some spot starts. He played well with Luka out and I think he can provide solid backup minutes for Rose.

That would be smart. We are not smart. More likely we're hoping for a future 2nd rounder in 2025 (protected 31 to 58).

All talk of Leon, etc. hired for their connections has been EXPOSED. Never mind stars, we can't even get Kendrick Nunn on an overpay.

Nunn wasn't going to get a contract anywhere near where he was targeting, so it came down to either signing a one year deal with a contender or with us, and he chose a contender. Nothing to feel bad about.

An overpay from us is 8 million per instead of 5 million per. Of course he's going to choose the Lakers in that case.

Leon can have all the influence in the world. The lakers are in a great position to win a Championship. They reloaded really well this off-season.

U right some players are all about the money. I guess he's more interested in playing for the Lakers, with Lebron, in California and on a championship contending team. Maybe if we massively overpay then he would change his mind, but he's not worth it.

LOL. We went from talking about CP3 to Kendrick Nunn to Derek Brunson. Who's next Mudiay? DSJ? lol

If you had a choice between playing for Pat Reilly or James Dolan, who would YOU pick?

They might have to trade something and grab a young guy with some potential. CAA ran out of clients apparently.

Knicks are always 10 years behind the game and this isn't any different. made zero sense to hire an agent as President and whatever think tank/committee convinced him to do so deserves to get fired along with this FO. literally any GM/President could punt until Zion is a free agent and they're totally going to **** that up too.

the knicks are like a Fox trying to pouch from a henhouse, only the hens are **** Cassowaries.

lol..

Bullock was ranked 50th among SF in PER
Barrette will move over and play and is ranked 16th
Founier is ranked 14th in Sg
Payton was ranked dead last
A homeless person is better than payton

Side Note: quickley was ranked 16th

Dallas is not getting rid of there only caliber back up point guard for bullock.
The only dumb move we made was the 1st round draft pick trade.
Rose Noel, burks are all 2+ 1 deals with team options.
how do you break up a 4 seed team that didn't even get to run together fully last year.

Remember this post remember my name remember I was the select few who believed .

FYI with rose we won 67% of games
Dead weight gone Bullock, Payton, Frank
Bullock replacement Grimes- Younger Cheaper Can put the ball on the floor and create for himself. Good cutter good passer Good Defense.

Bullock really hurt the knicks in the playoffs. The dude did nothing but camp by the 3 point line. 0 cutting 0 passing Straight chucking when he got the ball.

We had the 1 defense We will probably be top 7 this year againDont worry its new to some of you the knicks are going to stay good.
Some of you only know big name players who seem to never work for the knicks
But we got a younger start a rising star (drafted) and rising Rookies ( quickley) Maybe obi.

its ok you will learn

1) If they can’t get a backup/starter PG we will be scared all season for Rose’s knees
2) trying to put the Hawks loss on Bullock is just  it’s too soon to rewrite history
3) Frank might come back 8-)

Why would the Mavs do that? More likely what the Knicks will get is a future 2nd round pick which they will flip a few times for 2 future 2nd round picks a few years later.

Something like this:

Brunson + WCS (who would be waived afterward) for Bullock S&T + 2023 FRP.

Dallas would: 1) free all their picks to be traded; 2) add cap space if the Bullock S&T is done after they capped out. I think they want to get Dragic but I don't know if they have enough cap.

Butler/Nesmith/Watford
