I think Tyrod Taylor is most likely, with Justin Fields as a possibility. If Ward inexplicably fell to them, they'd take him but I don't see them being aggressive about moving up with their limited resources. So Taylor, Fields...maybe Darnold this year; and Jordan Travis and a potential mid-round pick QB would be their young prospects for the future.

It wouldn't shock me if Sanders is tanking interviews on purpose to get to Las Vegas.

Darnold would be a good option but not at big money tho

My personal preference is Taylor and Travis...if Taylor gets hurt, perfect time to tank for a better QB class.

I like Darnold (I was a big fan of us drafting him), but the money is a problem. We just don't have the cap, and I'd rather focus on keeping our young guys, adding more youth, and then making a real push when the cap is cleaner in an offseason or two.

Sign me up for 1 year rental on Justin Fields, he provides something we never saw at QB in a Jets uniform. If he sucks, we draft a QB in a better class next year

Fields might be fun. But if he manages to win 8 or 9 games, what happens to their ability to draft a QB in 2026? Will there be any top QBs left?

This is another reason why I hate the draft system as it stands. There's always a choice between try to get better and try to lose as many games as possible.

When it’s all said and done, I think we’ll end up with Jameis Winston

Geno back with Pete, using the pick they got from Jets for Adams, but apparently from what I read the Jets gave up the Detroit 3rd rounder for Adams not their own. So their own 3rd is 73 overall while Detroit is 92 overall.

I hope Wilson said he could work with him, they were teammates in college so hopefully the rapport was there. It's a good low risk/high reward signing, but his mobility could definitely be a welcomed breath of fresh air to have a QB that can scramble. Yes he's inconsistent and doesn't always protect the ball, but he's worth the money we got him for.

Cool beans.

I don't know what this does for our tank, but Fields is fun. I like this move, and 20K per isn't going to kill their cap. It's most of their cap space, but it's not a cap killer.

We're getting yours, what QB of ours are the Steelers getting?

Edit - never mind. I didn't realize Russell Wilson was a free agent and the Steelers were in the market for a QB - and, oddly enough, considering a certain 41 year old.

I heard his name come up from some Jets media (Jake Asman I think). He sounded like young ballhawk, which is perfect for the team's needs.

Considering the cap limitations, I don't mind the moves they've made. They've taken a couple of shots to tighten up the secondary, which may or may not pan out. But they put in big hitters with Forced TO potential. It's not the worst direction to aim for.

I didn't watch him play for Pittsburgh, but what I've read is that he took some steps forward. If he really did show improvement and continues to improve, then it's a potentially solid signing. If he sucks, the Jets get a better draft pick, so - win-win.

I think it's a perfectly fine move for a 5 win team with not much at QB beyond soon to be 36 years old and injury prone Tyrod Taylor. At least, I'm down with the move.
