This is an interesting take. Especially coming from someone who looks to win in the sim and former BaF champ. I agree that sometimes the player IRL is really worth taking a chance on, but then the ratings drop and you find out their sim impact is little to none. How do you balance waiting for the sim to hopefully respect them while prioritizing wins at the same time? Especially when you could easily choose to invest in a "sim-friendly" player.
The balance between trading for players you really like and winning at the highest level can be challenging to accomplish, but I can only imagine the joy in the end knowing you believed in a player and seeing them pan out.
I won't speak for Melo but I'm typically the same way. At least during the offseason and with big trades. My in-season trades at the margins are more curated for the SIM.
