He's right. Asian basketball players CAN'T have potential because of their race.

Who cares what they actually did on the court right? Race trumps all...

Hey guys, I'm curious, what would you think if Lin blew it up in Houston and became a legitimate All-Star candidate...and the Knicks crapped it out with Felton? Would it be another in a long list of unforgivable acts? Or would you guys think it was fine?

We're giving Portland MORE for Felton? How much are we paying this guy?

I remember being told during the Summer of 94, Madison Square Garden was making 1 million Dollars a day.

How did all that money help the Knicks when they were capped out? Oh yeah, it did'nt. And people were BITCHING and MOANING about the salary cap. It did NOTHING to turn the team around after the two finals runs. The outside money spiel is USELESS in terms of an on court product.

Its one thing trading him ala gallo/Melo

But if he just walks because of the luxury tax when we have a championship caliber team as opposed to the 130 mil 25 win team we had a few years ago I am don't with this team

You missed Steve Nash in that collection of PG's you'd rather not have over Ray Felton... Raymond f'kn Felton!!! And to call Fatty, who played his best ball, while being a ball dominant PG in MDA's system, a smart player boggles my mind. I've never needed a bong hit more than I've needed one right now.

I never said that.....just throwing a name out there that was never known for being a workout warrior but yet could still bring it on the court.

Felton's been like that since his days in Charlotte and hell maybe even his days at UNC. I still think he can be a useful (Bench) player for a team, I think to his fault somewhat the Blazers were just a miserable fit all around, especially given how bad of a coach McMillan was for that squad last season and how 3/4 of the team basically just quit on him. This was his last game as head coach of the Blazers...look at that score

Get used to that in practice/in game Felton

OK, let me get this straight.

You're saying that bringing money into the franchise doesn't really factor into anything of importance

But then you're saying paying Lin is going to kill us as a franchise?

Something doesn't seem right here.

Going from Shump for Nash to Shump for Felton...if that happened, might as well commit suicide, let's be honest...

That was then, this is now. We're capped out for 3 years, then everybody's contract expires. There's a clear plan for this one. Back in the day, it was a patch job. The Knicks kept trying to trade for longer contracts just to keep the team competitive. They didn't have a clear plan for the future. This one is clear as day. Go to war for 3 years then have all this flexibility to rebuild, re-tool, etc.

What the bleep is going on? I'm somewhat skeptical on what Lin will be but to not match would be crazy.

You vastly underrate Lin

i would say you overrrate him, he's a good player, i'd like him back...

but if he's getting too big for britches, f*ck him, he's not a Lebron, or a Kobe, or a Carmelo for that matter

I would say it would be as devastating the franchise as the Oden injury for Portland. Similar case of a current disaster having parallels to past disasters, as the team has had perpetual problems with holding onto young players and has had horrible luck trying to salvage players whose careers are in slumps.

Just to be clear on who said what-

Bondy was the one who said Lin may have not liked NYC

Berman was the one saying his Knick source "insists" they will not match

Isola trolling and all actually thinks they will match, here are his latest (relevant) tweets:

Frank Isola‏@FisolaNYDN
That said, I'll still be shocked if the Knicks don't match the offer for Jeremy Lin.

Frank Isola‏@FisolaNYDN
Look at his this way: Knicks got Lin for nothing and made a lot of money off him. Rockets cut Lin & is now willing to pay Lin $25 million

Frank Isola‏@FisolaNYDN
I always felt Knicks would match Lin. Of course, Berman of the Post has been reporting it exclusively (bet you won't be seeing that anymore)
