I’m rooting for the Knicks. They should go hard after the underrated, under the radar stars out there. I highly doubt KD, Kyrie or Kawhi would wanna join this dysfunctional organization with a creepy owner. This is the perception of the Knicks from everyone atm.

Knicks should target Diangelo Russel and Tobias Harris with their cap space. It’ll be a positive step towards making the playoffs again.

i'd rather have bennett than wiggins. bennett would cost nothing, while wiggins is tied to a giant contract, and won't help his team get to the PO, especially with KAT as their #1 guy.

that team will never make the PO again since changing their mentality from win-first, with butler, to score first, with KAT and wiggins.

Has anybody actually met a nets fan in person? Do they exist or is their fandom exclusive to basketball forums? I’m from Brooklyn/Queens and have yet to run into one and im around a bunch of different people 24/7. Not being sarcastic either.

In any event, even if the above is true, Lavert and Kurocs aren't THAT much better. I also stand by previous statements about the Nyets vs the Knicks. The Nets players are a year or two further along in development and the Nets are a year further into the rebuild.

All the Knicks young players don't suck. They'll continue to get better. They are, on the whole, younger than the Nets players.

The Nets aren't any kind of particular "destination", at least not any more than the Knicks, who aren't exactly one either.

And you love you some denial.

Just b/c I'm not a Knicks homer doesn't mean I love the Nets.

Other teams are allowed to have

- good players
- good management
- good coaching

Or do I have to pretend that everything Knicks is great while everything and everyone else is trash?

I'm one of the few who still defend Knox and Frank. I'm not one of these fans now wants to prop them up to trash another team's prospects.

Yeah but the Nets made their move when Kyrie is already our of the playoffs and later in the process when players have had more time to think and talk to each other about other teams and where they'd want to go and whatever else. So if there is any truth to either team knowing anything i'd give the edge to the Nets on that one, but like you said maybe nobody knows shyt and they're just taking a shot.

How would you feel if we still had Hardaway and Lee on the books and Porzingis cap hold with 32mil in cap space? I wouldn’t feel good about the future of this team. Porzingis is either coming back on a 4 year 110mil deal after after an ACL tear or a QO where he walks away for free at seasons send.

Would you have traded Lee and 2 1st to clear another 13mil to get where the Nets did today? Would be in the same position.

You can argue ownership but player for player asset by asset the Knicks are in a better position then the Nets for 2 max FAs and going forward

Ummmmmmm all i was saying was that the Nets clearing the cap space this much later then we did could give them an advantage because free agents have had more time to talk and figure out what they want to do or who they want to play with or where they want to play. Now i don't think that just because they cleared their space way after us that that automatically means that the big named are gonna go there or even like their situation over ours but it could help. The big names are gonna do what they wanna do so all we can do is sit back and hope that the Knicks at least get meetings with these guys to give Perry, Mills and Fiz a chance to sell them on what they're trying to build with the Knicks and the culture they're trying to bring to the Knicks. We couldn't even get meetings the last time we had money to spend in free agency so if we can get the big names to meet with us then that will make me feel much more comfortable cause i actually think Fiz can sell these guys.

I have lived in many places in NY and NJ. I think I would know one person at least but I really don't.

I'm even of the age where they would be old enough to rock with the back to back finals team instead of the misery of this team in the 2000's and nothing. It's wild. Better org than the Knicks recently, no doubt about it, but they can't catch on in this area.

let me say something...there are times to be negative. when you have a bad gm and coach, when you have overpaid guys, when the cap is f*cked up. that's the time. right now the knicks are in a good position to get guys and are in a good position even if they don't. if they don't, the cap is still clear from albatrosses. they have their picks plus others. if you're being negative now because you're psychologically preparing yourself for things to go wrong, it's just weak.

Also lets revisit Harris > Trier
The eyeball test showed Harris to be a big fail in the playoffs. Great regular season shooter but to go from 47.5% shooting to 367% FG and 42.7. % 3pt FG to 19%?.... I think he's a too one dimensional for pick over Trier. Just my opinion.
