Ah, Tarpely came over in the Nova trade.
There was another guy, who didn't work out, who was a good college reliever but never made it with the Yanks after a few years on their farm.

Jacob Lindgren? He was drafted high but ended up being released, not traded, and hasn't progressed beyond high-A since.
Mark Montgomery was a reliever that had absolutely dominating mL numbers out of college, made it to AAA, but didn't pan out.
The only other prospect-ish true reliever of note I can recall them straight up trading in a memorable deal after he made the Majors was James Pazos.
