One interesting thing about Russel Westbrook. He put up better numbers last year than Derrick Rose did his MVP year (more points/rebounds/assists per game and higher shooting percentage), and that is taking a back seat to Harden.

I’m surprised what I’m about to write hasn’t been mentioned anywhere. Not because it might happen but because in theory it still COULD happen and I’m sure Rose has played out the scenario...

Until Giannis signs the contract, the Knicks could Godfather an offer for Harden, keep the books clear, and then simply try to sign Giannis next year.

I don’t think it’s even remotely likely, but the plausibility could be part of what’s keeping Leon from committing to FAs rn.

Will definitely sign Jeff Teague or Kris Dunn, Avery Bradley, Korkmaz, Millsap and Forbes

SF:RJ/Bullock/Knox
PF:Toppin/Millsap/Wooten
C:Mitch/Millsap/Gibson/Giles
SG:Bradley/Burks/Korkmaz
PG:Teague/Frank

Trade Randle and DSJ for picks

Plenty left out there:
Furkan Korkmaz, Kris Dunn, Frank Jackson, Jontay Porter(RFA), De'Anthony Melton (RFA), Quinn Cook, Avery Bradley, PJ Dozier, Paul Millsap, Jordan McRae, Jae Crowder, Willie Cauley-Stein, Shaquille Harrison, Skal Labissiere, Damian Jones, Jeff Teague, Ky Bowman, DeAndre' Bembry, Chris Boucher(RFA), Bryn Forbes, Cheick Diallo, Harry Giles

4th Quarter defensive shut down, we might fk around and win too many games:

SF:RJ
PF:Millsap
C:Mitch
SG:Bullock
PG:Bradley

For a one year deal, I agree. At Milsap helps on defense. At this point in his career, I hope Milsap ends up with a contender though.

You’re right. Man I wish we got Millsap when he was younger. When I saw him hitting those 3s against Miami a while back...I was like, this guy got balls

Warriors gave up a late first round pick to acquire him.

I think we are at the stage wherein we should be accumulating draft assets as opposed to giving them up.

Yeah but its protected through 20 picks, I would of dangled the Mavs pick. I do understand next year is a deep draft but how likely is it we would find a player as good as Oubre between 20-30.

Oubre is also a free agent next year. We were smart not to trade for him

Agree, Excellent locker room guy, plus defender, good scorer, can back up Toppin and Mitch, he will still get 30+ minutes. He will drop 15ppg 8rpg off the bench easily while playing great defense. I'll give him a 1 yr deal.

It makes perfect sense why Hayward would want to go to Indiana, his hometown is Indianapolis and went to Butler for college. At his age he's probably thinking let me secure one final long-term contract and being able to come back home would be icing on the cake.

I actually like Hayward, he's an efficient player and a do-it-all type. He's obviously been dealing with injuries the moment he signed with Boston (that leg fracture was gruesome,) but if he received a clear medical screening I can see why someone of his ilk would be desirable.

I really hope FVV resigns with Toronto, there's just something about his game I don't think would translate well over here. Probably the idea he'd become the defacto #1 or 2 option because of his salary- similar to the delusion Randle was suffering from last season when he went from a productive 6th man in NO to a #1 option here and you clearly saw him trying to do too much. I'm also turned off with FVV's approach to the offseason wanting to "secure the bag." makes perfect sense, but no fanbase wants to hear that nonsense especially a franchise like ours where it seems like players come here to secure big money and more often than not produce in a minimal fashion.

I'm still ok with Westbrook just because of his competitive nature, the dude doesn't know how to tank. But that contract is just awful, I guess him having 2 productive seasons and hopefully being a desirable trade chip in that final year (45 mill) might allow us to get a disgruntled star on a longer term deal in a trade. But Houston would have to be doing it for a salary dump and we should not be giving up a single asset in that deal aside from packaging Randle.

He hasn't averaged 15/8 type numbers in 4 years, but he's going to do it easily off the bench?

I get that you want to make moves, but you want us to make the same mistakes we made last year by signing Avery Bradley and Jeff Teague to start, why? We're better off just seeing if Frank and DSjr have improved rather than giving minutes to guys like that. There's no point in getting over the hill vets to start right now.

I loved Wall pre injury. His contract is horrible though.

Just before Wall's injury, he was putting on the weight. He got paid and was ridding out his contract. How many of these super max cats are happy with their teams? Team owners need to wise up and let these players walk. If not you will wind up trying to trade one unhappy max cat for another.
