I didn't say he would be a bust, but if I'm given the choice of Steve Francis or nothing at all, I'm picking nothing at all every day of the week and twice on Sunday. That type of player does not win in the NBA.

Steve Francis was a multiple time all star. But you would rather not have him. Ok then. Carry on.

Just because someone is an all-star doesn't make them a winning player. Francis played no defense, shot the ball barely over 40% after his first two seasons, and had a crap assist to turnover ratio for a PG. He was decent, but not the type of player you have on a winning team, at least if he is going to be the first or second option.

Also, I don't care how frustrating he can be on the court at times, I'm going to be really sad if/when the Knicks move on from KOQ. He might be my favorite Knicks personality of the past 15 years. I hope he's here for the duration. He seems like the kind of guy that can hold an entire team together in a winning situation.

It also doesn't hurt that on the court he's got fun skills to see in a big man and some impressive advanced metrics.

And if we selected DSJ, the majority of these dudes getting upset would be praising this kid nonstop.

Knick fans would be praising a Knick?

That makes sense.

The same players they bash nonstop because they are not a Knick are the same players they praise if they are a Knick.

That makes zero sense.

Not really.

We are Knicks fans. It makes perfect sense.

So this guy is a Rockets insider called ballaholic or something. Over at clutch fans they are reposting his tweets. Basically this presser was all a smoke screen. A trade was already agreed on in July by Mills. Melo is holding him to it. We might buy out Melo then do a trade to remove Lee/Thomas contracts from the books.

I am not reposting all these guys tweets but here is the link. Clutchfans hold him in high regard as a legit insider.

Nobody within in the organization cares what Mills agreed to. Perry is handling this now.

If Melo wants a buyout, then he will have to waive his last year.

Winslow was the best defender in that draft and we all knew it and teams were drooling over that alone. The same goes for Frank. His defense is off the chain, but unlike Winslow, his handles and shot are also on point. For Frank I believe it'll be more of can he run the offense or do we move him to two. I can see lineups with Jack, Frank, and THJ. For people to say he was chosen for the triangle that's actually a good thing for if you can run the triangle then hell you can run just about any offense.

Winning and smart basketball is not for everyone. As stated, dsjr and monk are about getting theirs. Knicks tried that route with amare, then melo.

Let's not bring in **** like that anymore. I want the knicks to win, not do worse like they have been.

Man this is the worst type of fan lol The last time the Knicks were relevant 1 of your best players was Latrell sprewell. Knock it off

1) Beggars cant be choosers. Ugly ball, smart ball, yall will take any type of wins you can get

2) This league is run by shoot first 'Get mine' point guards. The audacity to say you dont wanrt to win with DSJR. Pft.

The days of cutting and backdooring, and 'playing the right way' your way into wins are long gone broseph

well, someone can't read.

glad you're not a knicks fan. i prefer defense and winning. enjoy

Championships won where the best player on the team was a shoot first "get mine" point guard
2017 - nope
2016 - nope
2015 - yep (could be argued as no seeing how Iggy won FMVP)
2014 - nope
2013 - nope
2012 - nope
2011 - nope
2010 - nope
2009 - nope
2008 - nope
2007 - nope
2006 - nope
2005 - nope
2004 - nope
2003 - nope
2002 - nope
2001 - nope
2000 - nope
1999 - nope
1998 - nope
1997 - nope

For a league "run by" these guys, they don't have the best record, huh?

Even the top teams today, the only one whose best player is a shoot first pg is Boston. Cleveland, GS, San Antonio, and Houston all either have better players than their PG, or don't have a shoot first PG.

shh, let him think he knows basketball.

If that mattered, Melo would have been traded already.

Basically the guy tweeted that Perry paused the trade to try to get better deals. But Melo is not budging from his only Rockets demand. Which I am sure Mills is on board with. Who wouldn't.

And it is kinda in gibberish but if I gathered this correctly. If we buyout Melo then we have a trade in the works to get rid of Thomas or Lee's contract. That would be HUGE!

And having midgets with a Napoleon complex never leads to winning championships.

Oh and DSJ already tore his ACL. That's a ticking time bomb.

But keep getting hyped over players because they can jump.

You will be changing your tag to tankcommander 20. Then tankcommander 23. Tankcommander 26.

DSJ might be a bust. And he might end up being a terrible basketball player in the league. But my point was that you don't know that yet. He hasn't played a game and you are already labeling him Steve Francis/a player you can't win with.

Yet you are hyping Frank who hasn't played a game either just because he is a Knick. Stop being a homer and at least let the kids play some games to make a determination.

Both can be good players in the league. Both can stink. But give them a chance. Stop bashing players just because they are on another team. That is juvenile.

Here’s what I don’t understand. If these guys are or have legit sources,... why don’t they use the info to make money?

This happens every time there’s a trade buzz. People claiming to have the inside scoop. And using it to get a message board or twitter following. If it was legit they could sell that information.

I think the answer to my initial question is pretty obvious.

I'm not saying any of that. I don't know who will bust and who won't. I don't know the future. If I did I wouldn't waste time posting on a basketball forum.

What I am saying is that a player like Frank, with his physical attributes is more conducive to winning than midget shoot first pgs. The next time a player like Rose/Marbury/Francis leads a team to a title will be the first time.
