Jim Crane basically just bagged his bag men and got off scott free. If I was Luhnow and Hinch I'd seriously start thinking about spilling the beans about how much Crane was involved and aware and, as a result, approved of the cheating.

Probably a good time for White Sox and Reds fans to bring up Shoeless Joe and Pete Rose after these punishments.

On the subject of Shoeless Joe, we're playing an actual game this season in the ballpark of a movie where the deceased 1919 White Sox come to play, namely Shoeless Joe Jackson. Lift the ban already. At least do it that game.

Rumors are out there that implicate the Yankees and the Dodgers also cheating. Why don't they just get rid of the replay room and check for rogue cameras in ballparks?

"If you don't want us to know the pitches coming, don't do anything that demonstrates what pitch you're going to pitch or what you're going to throw, but they're doing the same thing. Every hitter wants to know what's coming, by virtue of what a pitcher is doing or not doing."

BOSTON (CBS) — For the second straight postseason, an accusation has been made against the Astros for stealing signs.

This time, though, Astros manager A.J. Hinch finds the accusations to be comical.

Prior to Thursday’s Game 4 in the Bronx, Hinch was asked about the accusations made by the Yankees that members of the Astros were whistling from the dugout to send signals to batters to let them know which pitches were coming.

“In reality, it’s a joke,” Hinch said.

“When I get contacted about some questions about whistling, it made me laugh because it’s ridiculous,” Hinch said. “And had I known that it would take something like that to set off the Yankees or any other team, we would have practiced it in spring training. It apparently works, even when it doesn’t happen.”

“Man, I’m glad you asked that question, and I thought it would come up today,” Hinch said at the start of his Yankee Stadium news conference. “In reality, it’s a joke. But Major League Baseball does a lot to ensure the fairness of the game. There’s people everywhere. If you go through the dugouts and the clubhouses and the hallways, there’s like so many people around.

Astros and Red Sox need humongous asterisks next to those titles.

I honestly don't care about the titles, that's in the past.

What MLB should be doing is taking away draft picks for a good while.

taking away titles would make teams think twice about cheating. it's the only reason to cheat in the first place. anything else is a band-aid.

Nah they should take it away. That type of stuff destroys legacies. Carlos Beltran hall of fame? Strip away the title and make that **** harder for that dirtbag. He's up in 2023. Let's have that convo, right as everyone is voting for him. Alex Cora trying to get another job after he gets fired? NAH.

But why go after Beltran ? you just picked him out of everybody. Even without that chip , he still had a tremendous career.

Man, you Yankees fans are spiteful mofos. Who cares? Altuve hit much better on the road than at home in '17. Springer's stats were better on the road as well. A lot of ML hitter say it messes with their timing. So, unless you can show indisputable advantage to the home team, I say "fkc it." But I come from a time when pitchers used to throw greaseballs, scuff balls and spitballs and hitters would pine tar their bats up to the barrel.

You guys lost. That's life. Stop your crying you little babies. Now you want draft picks and have their title taken away from them. That's too funny.

Old George would simply make sure that this season you beat their asses ... no, make that "dominate their asses." Get in their asses with a can of spray paint and paint "George was here!" That's all that matters now.

Don't worry bruh, I have enough hate for everybody...Bregman, Altuve, Correa, everybody. Not gonna knock Beltran's career. Just like I won't knock Bond's or McGuire's career. But that stuff deserves to follow them around, especially if Beltran was one of the leaders.

I knew it took someone to mention Beltran for Wingo to show up.

The remedy should be to strip the World Series titles. Nothing else is sufficient.

We know the cheating will continue because we've seen this play out in other sports (e.g., football). Does anyone believe Brady lost his phone? Does anyone believe that the Pat's running backs, many of whom were picked up off the scrap pile due to fumbles, wouldn't have fumbled more if they weren't playing with a deflated "Nerf" football that's easier to grip? The Pat's have won two since deflate-gate -- all others are suspect at best. If the titles were stripped, Brady isn't in the conversation for the GOAT.

Those were unnamed sources. I'm pretty sure that MLB investigated all allegations not just against the Astros and the Red Sox. And MLB had already investigated the Red Sox counter claim that the Yankees were cheating and found that claim baseless.
