Nobody gonna die over genital herpes either but you still wouldn't want that schit.

Bottom line you can try to sweeten it up with a pet name ("cold sore") all you want. It's still a nasty variant of the herpes virus that once it is contracted cannot be eradicated from the human body.

Just cuz so many people have it doesn't make it anymore desirable.

You and I in all likelihood carry it as well. We carry most of the viruses that are spread around by air in public places. They may make you sick and they may not. Like flu, for instance. In this case, the reason a cold sore does not manifest itself is related to immunity and loads of other factors. And it is NOT an STD. The whole thread has become utter nonsense.

True story, I had cold sores a lot when I was a kid but can't remember last time I had 1..

Thank god - I had those things on lips inside mouth - that was terrible

AGAIN...just cuz so many people have oral herpes doesn't make it anymore desirable or less nasty. I've seen people with "cold sores" on their mouth to the point where it is festering up onto their nose. Oozing puss and leaking clear fluid.

I find it funny how that concept is so hard for people to grasp. It's only due to people getting offended cuz they have it. And speak for yourself, I know for a fact I am not a carrier nor have I ever had an oral herpes outbreak.

And please quote me on where I have ever said that it was an STD. I know the difference between a "cold sore" and genital herpes. That still doesn't change the fact that they are both variants of the herpes virus. As is chicken pox and shingles.

Not sure what you're talking about - cold sores are herpes. 2 year olds with cold sores have the herpes simplex 1 virus.

They got it from sex?
We are talking about the STD.

According to our doctors, everyone has oral herpes virus, but for most people it never shows up. It is NOT sexually transmitted disease, because you can infect others when you have the sore (e.g. by kissing, by using the same spoon etc.) It is called cold sore because it manifests when your immunity is low - during cold seasons mostly.
STDs are those which you get ... you know how. Oral herpes is not STDs. I am amazed at you Americans sometimes.

I'm amazed at how non Americans can't follow and comprehend a conversation.

People also can get mouth herpes from oral sex. However....

We know what you're talking about. DUH!
We are not not even speaking on the cold sore and chicken pox stuff.

Nice to hear. Fresh starts are always nice. Melo era is finally over, and this organization can move on and do things right, and most importantly, with patience.

I will believe it when I see it.

Pretty much. They called it an STD and now spinning it to something else. It's too much when to deal with when they move the goalposts.
