Yeah the biggest argument against NBA not being fair is THE KNICKS

If the draft system is there for balance and strengthen the weak how come Knicks can be bad for 20+ years? You cant fix bad management I guess

Then actual draft lottery odds should go up if you've been bad for so long.

Why can't the NBA develop a system where if you continue to be in the lottery but keep missing out on the top 3 overall, then your odds to win keep going up. That way you're rewarding the team that's not really tanking but just isnt good, a team not bad enough to be the worse, not good enough for the playoffs.

I think you guys are on to something with the weighted odds taking account lottery history, you will have teams competing most years to NOT win the lottery so they can keep their odds high for a generational draft like this one lol

They should trade Lebron for a decent draft pick and let Russ expire…. But that would be too out the box for the Laker’s player friendly brand.

i wonder what the market would be for leborn at his age ? it wouldn't be what people expect i think. i think with their lack of picks they just don't see a rebuild as a good option. i wonder what they could get for ad.

Seeing LeBron winless and in pain gives me so much joy. 8-)

I just hope no team does the Lakers any favors and trades for Westbrook. Let LeBron suffer the entire season! :D

I mean if they want to go that route, I guess they can. As a Knicks fan, though, I can tell you it feels like ****. Probably not a perfect solution but if it begins eliminating it slowly, I think it's worth considering. It would stop the Thunder, the Cavs, the Sixers of the past hopefully, the Magic, the Pissed-Ons, at least.

Are you kidding? That might be our best chance to move Fournier and Randle, but at least one of them. 8-)

I think the Lakers are just hoping to reduce the amount of assets to move Westbrook by moving him to a team with the cap space (two teams I think.) Outside of that, or even with that, it is going to cost them a first (or a younger player.)

But to get Fournier and Randle, or Randle anyway, might be 2 firsts (while taking on Westbrook.)
We have a chance anyway... Ya'll!

I feel ashamed for even considering giving Ben Simmons a home with the Knicks. I was never fully convinced, but even considering it still counts as a mark of shame. What a disaster he is .

IMO there are two things they can do to fix what is left of the problem (play in tourney has helped a lot IMO)

1) The record by all-star break determines draft order.
No point in tanking if losses are meaningless.
1b) NCAA style tourney for teams outside of the playoffs with odds boost for winner (1, 2, 3)

This means that the best way to tank is to suck for the first half of the season, then miraculously get better enough to beat all of the other teams in a fun and exciting tourney (for my purposes it's single elimination).

2) Teams who finish the entire season with a bottom 6 record lose home games. This could be expanded to 10 teams, but for now I say 6. Teams would keep, say, 30 of the home games, but 11 matchups would be moved to neutral arenas to help expand the brand (and possibly to plan for moving a team all together). This adversely impacts the revenue of those clubs which creates a penalty for small market clubs who plan on just sitting on picks.
