Really though miss me with that... WCS is not even going to amount to that old dude we had.

Would a future contender for DPOY not be worthy of a #4 pick? That's my question.

so say Mudiay, Russell, Winslow are all available and you guys draft WCS that's ok with you?

absolutely not.

i'd trust the vision. but from my non-professional vantage point, i don't like that at all.

The team in a crux is Orlando who want WCS. Knowing we can grab him may lead them to deal one spot with us so they can get their guy and we still get Mudiay. The last thing the Magic wants is another guard.

They would want this guard although I dont think he is there at 4.

i like the wcs talk. every time this team opens up about who they're likely to draft someone comes in and poaches them (at least, that's what it looks like) i'm sure it'll be one of the 4.

With Vlad & Payton I can 99.9% guarantee they trade him away.

They need big man defense more than they need a combo PG.

If Mudiay is there they'll pick him but he'll be traded.

I love Workforce's idea.

I want D'Angelo if this happens. If he is gone though i would like to trade down, shed Jose, pick up an asset or two and draft Willie.

He's definitely worth consideration. Would you rather pay DeAndre Jordan close to or on a max deal or would rather have WCS who can provide rebounding, shot blocking, and ability to defend several positions on a rookie deal?

It's not that I don't think WCS can end up being the number 4 prospect. I think it's unlikely but, he certainly could be that impactful but, my point is, right now, the consensus is he is outside of the top 5. Why reach for someone who is most likely to go 6th or later when you can trade down possibly shed Calderon's contract and pick up an asset in the process? Especially since the Knicks are so deprived of assets right now. I'm saying it would be bad draft management to take WCS at 4, not knocking him personally.

There isn't a PG like Mudiay in the market, tho. Wouldn't you rather draft Mudiay and pay Jordan to play center?

In today's league, you can get by with an okay center.

this, well not the second part. Not going to hate on his health but something to keep in mind.

But he is an older prospect with no offensive game, isn't a great rebounder and kaminsky lite him up.

At the 4 spot, you go for star potential. Not a piece who can't score.

A list of past college defensive player of the years:

2001–02 John Linehan Providence Point guard Senior
2002–03 Emeka Okafor Connecticut Center Sophomore
2003–04 Emeka Okafor (2) Connecticut Center Junior
2004–05 Shelden Williams Duke Power forward Junior
2005–06 Shelden Williams (2) Duke Power forward Senior
2006–07 Greg Oden Ohio State Center Freshman
2007–08 Hasheem Thabeet Connecticut Center Sophomore
2008–09 Hasheem Thabeet (2) Connecticut Center Junior
2009–10 Jarvis Varnado Mississippi State Center Senior
2010–11 Kenneth Faried Morehead State Power forward/Center Senior
2011–12 Anthony Davis* Kentucky Center Freshman
2012–13† Victor Oladipo Indiana Shooting guard Junior
2012–13† Jeff Withey Kansas Center Senior
2013–14 Aaron Craft Ohio State Point guard Senior
2014–15 Willie Cauley-Stein

Lots of busts on that list. It doesn't always translate well. You need to do other things. WCS can't score and is a subpar rebounder. He was dominant defending the perimeter, but not as dominant on the interior. Not sure he can be a Chandler or Jordan on the interior. Hard pass on WCS.

Don't do it Phil...do NOT select WCS. Why are the Knicks the only team being talked about reaching for all these guys? I'm going to choose to not trust what Chad Ford is saying on this one. The worst season in Knicks history, and we end up with WCS? NO THANKS

I really do think we're going to trade down to draft Stein, and pickup a PG in the process.

#4 for #6 and Darren Collison.

Get ready for it. Melo already whined about having a 19 year old PG taking a while to learn the ropes. Phil may as well have drew a picture of Stein when he described the center he wanted (at least defensively). It's coming people. Prepare dat ass.
