That is what a really prudent front office would do, it's not about Grimes being better than Mitchell, it's about how much can Grimes give us in relation to Mitchell, if as a starter he gives you 60% of the offense with much better defense then it's an idiotic trade.

Brunson was in a backcourt with Doncic who’s not much better than Mitchell if at all. In todays NBA the best defense a good offense. Im not saying do the trade or not but cmon poochio get with it

If Mitchell was 6'7 I would be all over that trade

Ideally FO will like to keep Grimes or package IQ and Obi together with McBride. Sims is valuable only in the case of Obi is traded. Keeping a front court of Mitch- Randle-Hartenstein-Sims/Obi is a priority.

Barrett-Brunson-DMitchell and try to retain as many from IQ/Grimes/Rose/Fournier is a priority.

Trade as many picks until 2027 and not stretch further beyond is also another priority.

Thank me for the insight later. :)

It’s Ian Begley

….
In short, all I am saying is RJ-Brunson-Grimes-Quickley-Randle are the untouchables moving forward.

In what world is Doncic not much better than Mitchell if at all?

Time for everyone to log off for a little while.

He's the prototype guard you'd slot in with this team. A tall, defensive wing who is best utilized off ball and can create secondary offense from the wings. Say he blows up this year in his ideal role. You have better capital for the next (SGA) trade. Or you just keep him.

Likewise, then you have IQ playing the Ginobili bench role. Our asset base could look a lot better by the new year.

Give me SGA over Mitchell easily, would be a fun duo with RJ

You had FOMO about making the playoffs, swore it would be a good thing, it wasn't. You want Mitchell at the expense of pretty much every asset we have, you will be wrong there too, and we'll be 1 player away from the UK singularity which is the only positive.

It was a good thing, look at the success in luring players here they are now having

I didn't see the playoff experience working on the court this year, I was told by you it would help them win games.

Luring - Trading all first rounders, a lottery pick, young players and having a relationship with a player that began when they were still sperm.

They got the job done so what difference does it make? Donovan isn’t begging to go to tanking trash teams, he wants to come here and you better believe they all know that

Is more help Mitchell has than Melo ever got. Just do the deal. IQ, Obi, Mcbride is replaceable. Will suck losing grimes but he’s not a dealbreaker

Can not wait for the Mitchell vs Melo threads

Melo will be here playing with Mitchell 8-)

Might as well fire Thibs then because that defense is going to be atrocious.

The last thread had Dmitch - Michael Jordan comparisons, today is a little more tame, at least we're moving in the right direction.

Also the fact that we signed Brunson to top dollar was that he would pop without Doncic but he will be in the exact role with Mitchell who will be defacto pg lol

Unless Bullock is ‘04 Ron Artest, the lineup with Brunson and Mitchell isn’t that much different than starting lineup that was good defensively a few years ago.

Highkey stupid lol. I lived in Orlando for a few years. Donovan don’t wanna be there. No state tax isn’t worth it.

He was very efficient and successful in that role so maybe it’s good to not try to force him into playing hero ball. DM also has a high usage rate but not quite Luka high so opportunities will still be there. Both players have contributed to winning situations so I’m optimistic they will be able to share the ball
