like I said after watching Amare today I loosen my stance on that a bit. But if you actually were an NBA fan and watched Amare in Phoenix, the majority of his offense came from Steve Nash creating openings for him. Either that or he relied a lot on his athleticism rather than post savvy.

A talented guard usually is better than a talented big man at the end of tight games, a situation well probably find ourselves in many times this season.

Cool...so we win a pre-season game against the NETS  and the cockeyed optimists are showing their faces again. So hows Gallo working out for you guys on that side of the fence?

We win a few games and now we are going to run roughshod over the league, LOL.

Well the tone has certainly changed compared to that "I am so f'n sick of losing" thread

Hey, if you watched Amare in Phoenix and not just the media portrayal of him as a product of Nash, you would realize that is wrong. I mean, even if you just started watching in the WCF last season, it was obviously wrong.

Nash did run the pick and roll perfectly with Nash, which is a credit to Amare too. In NY you can see they don't run it nearly as well. If they ever develop the same chemistry as Nash did, Amare is going to have insane numbers. On the other hand, in Phoenix, it was not Amare's team, so he did not play to his full capacity. Phoenix was a very balanced team so Amare did not get the FGA of other superstars. I've really been enjoying seeing the offense run through Amare first, for a change. It seems very effective for Amare and the whole team.

It will be interesting to see what the people who said Amare is a product of Nash and that Nash is also going to make Hedo and Hakim Warrick into big stars are going to think later in the season.

On the last point about finishing games, that isn't really true if your big can create for himself and hit FTs.

You know what I think will be interesting? The theory that "Phoenix success was mainly because of Nash" will be put to the test this year. They kept Nash, we got Stoudemire and D'Antoni. We'll see how the season goes.

Ummmmm....NO

Big men are more efficient. You want a guy who hits 55% from the floor taking shots rather then a guy shooting 42% like Marbury.

We'll make the playoffs as a lower tier seed, who depending on the matchup might be able to win a game or two in a series, and then get sent home. Thats about our talent level. Of course, its possible we could be higher, if a few teams in the East have plane crashes this year and are unable to finish the season

Bump.

I still believe.

50 wins.

Nobody is going to want to play us come playoff time.

Nobody.

I wish it was true. I'll settle for 41 wins and the 7th seed (barring a Carmelo trade).

Where has OooSplendiforous been during this win streak? Or does he only post when the team is losing?

Looks like he got bounced - note the 'Waived' under his name.

I'm thinking he's one of the new guys that showed up during the losing streak. And if he's not, he'll register again if the team starts losing.

12/16 of the games were against losing teams. Let's wait until after December to start making these judgments

Honestly we really don't look very good at all. The vast majority of our wins have come against teams under .500. We don't play defense for the most part. We rely too much on outside shooting, which as a result is very inconsistent.

The bright side is you don't have to be very good to be a playoff team in the East. And we're young and athletic. And we have the best chance at getting Melo.

Things have certainly been worse for the New York Knicks, but let's not get the champaign ready yet...

Knicks have only beaten one good team Bulls. Others are against crappy teams. I will reserve judgment until this team can start beating good games.

I am glad at least knicks are beating they are supposed to beat now on to good teams

I wouldn't be surprised if we win about 50 something games. Like a 50 -32 record wouldn't surprise me one bit. There's alot of bad teams in this league especially in the eastern conference...
