As Stat would say- NO QUESTION! There's a cloud over the team.. If you think about it everyone not named STAT, and Felton can be traded for Melo. Just look at NJ I think they won two in a row since Prov had the press conference...

This is why Denver is holding out. They're hoping we fall on hard times during the rough part of our schedule and the fans' overreact. Let's face it patience isn't a NY trait.

It is a Walsh trait. People are nuts if they think he gives a sh*t about 5 games in January. He will make the trade when he gets the deal he can live with.

It should've been done yesterday, but Donnie sat on his ass, trying to play "poker" with Denver instead of giving them the damn package of players when they were producing. Now we have to sit by while possibly Houston "rents" Melo, meanwhile our team is sinking quicker than the Titanic.

This is a Carmelo thread. Not a Felton thread. Besides it wont be the first PG to start out with a bang and end in a poof. However, Felton is better then that. Look in his eyes folks. Its the team. Its these rumors? We need a jolt. We tried a shake up. Minor yes.

Dont fool yourself (with all due respect). This team is not set for scorers. Its set for shooters. We have 1 scorer. And another trying to pick up the slack. We need another scorer.

We are 2 games from being a .500 team... the panic button should be close to being pushed soon.

"Maybe it's time" was when Melo was first put on the trade market.

So? We aren't anywhere close from dropping out of the playoffs. Why would we panic?

sad thing is I think this Melo stuff is gonna carry over until right around the trade deadline, not good for the Gallos Chandlers and Fields of this team, they are all playing scared because they don't want to be traded to Denver

I didn't necessairly say I thought Billups was better than Felton, but I do think he can help us win RIGHT away more than Felton can, and i'd be interested in including Felton in the deal if it meant we could keep Fields, or Gallo.

We will need the PG to run the ball, keep things under control if we get Melo. We don't need erant passes, forced shots, and poor decision making. Billups brings championship experience, and he does not have a long contract. While I know Felton can be locked up for a 5-10 M a year which isn't a bad value, if we can get Melo, keep something we don't want to give up, and Billups helps us win a title, none of us will be complaining.

Thankfully the fans won't be making any trades then. Walsh will make his deal. We could lose five in a row or 15 in a row, it doesn't mean we give up everything for Melo. This losing streak hasn't changed the fact that he still wants NY.
All-Time Draft

PG- Oscar Robertson/Bob Cousy
SG- Earl Monroe/James Harden/Dana Barros
SF- Billy Cunningham/Michael Finley/Chet Walker
PF- Elvin Hayes/Dolph Schayes/Tom Chambers/Danny Manning

I actually think this Denver-LA game is pretty important in determining if a trade will go down soon. They're sitting 24-17 and only 2 1/2 games out of the third seed. They have a cupcake schedule for the next two weeks after LA:

Indiana Pacers
@ Washington Wizards
@ Detroit Pistons
@ Cleveland Cavaliers
@ Philadelphia 76ers )
@ New Jersey Nets

If they beat LA and go 5-1, I don't think they'll trade Melo.

Denver is an abysmal road team, i wouldn't be surprised if they lost 2 of those road games

Think big picture. Worst case scenario (barring injuries) the knicks end up 42-40 and get knocked out of the first round. That is a 13 game improvement over last year and their first playoff since 04. That is a good first step in the grand scheme of building a real contender.

We shouldn't risk the 12 and 13 seasons, when we have a real shot at making in the playoffs if we play our cards rights for 11 when we don't.

Wow...some people can actually think longterm about something and see the big picture. I'm impressed.
