I'll trade this 50 for a W. Anyone, Anyone.

Just a few interesting and worthless tweets.

Here's a thought...2 separate trades involving Minny, making it more palatable for them.

Trade 1: Azubroken, $3 million cash for Telfair

Trade 2: Rumored 3 team trade with Denver, sending an additional $3 million.

This would make it much more likely for Minny to include Brewer AND that 1st rounder as they could get $6 million in cash, Azu's insured deal and Randolph (Curry would be entirely paid for and then some).

I think Dolan's involvement will make this deal happen. Having said that, I believe Dolan's involvement means bye bye to Gallo, Fields, TD, Walker, and Williams and hello to Al, Balkman, Anderson, and every other bad contract that a third team may throw in.

Guys, settle down. Dolan doesn't make the decisions. Walsh does. Dolan reaching out wasn't done without Walsh knowing. If so then Dolan is a maniac.

They are probably trying to work this out above the stupid head of the Denver gm.

My fear is that Dolan will somehow break cba rules and screw us

I'm still fine with last month's Telfair + UTA 1st (#20) deal for Randolph

DEN could still sign-and-trade Melo this summer like LeBron and Bosh, and salvage some trade value for him (like a TPE and a couple picks). However, their motivation for trading Melo before the deadline probably rests in the $20-25 mil they'd save this year by getting under the lux. A Curry-for-cap space swap would cost MIN about $5 mil at this point (with the pro-rated, pre-paid salary plus kicker), and cost them the opportunity to use the cap space in other deals.

I think this makes MIN's role pretty clear - it just depends on how NYK wants to use them.

Honestly, it doesn't make sense for the Nuggets (and I believe there were some reports that the Nuggets actually like Randolph) to want a mid 20's pick in a piss poor draft instead of Randolph who is exciting and has high upside (to help bring buts into the arena). Another way to look at it, if Randolph was in this draft, he'd be a lottery pick. I mean who exactly are the Nuggets expecting to get in the 20's that is better? As much as the view on Randolph has soured, he's still significantly better than most of the shlock that you'd find at the bottom of the 1st round in this draft.

I think the better word is "idiot". Dolan has admitted that he's an "idiot" when it comes to basketball on several occassions.

Well if they want AR, they can't get that 20 million savings in luxury tax+salary. Minny is not taking on Curry's contract for nothing. They want AR.

Rumored deal very favorable for Knicks, anything Dolan does even if it had to be done will certainly be worse for the Knicks. He's in a can't win situation. Only Dolan the Dolt would waltz right in to that buzzsaw.

Yep. Knicks have be willing to walk away to get a sweetheart deal. Dolan is sending the exact opposite message, likely due to input from his con-man friend - who can't deal with deservedly being out of the loop.

Imagine, the guy who took Balkman over Rondo and Frye over Grainger expecting to get back his job!

LOL No one thought Rondo was gonna be good out of Kentucky. He was trash in college. And Grainger really? Hes a perennial loser and 40% shooter. IF anything they shoulda took Bynum whos hurt every single year anyway. Should we bring up all Donnies draft day disasters. He took Shawne Williams over Rondo. Or when he took Fred Jones over guys like Prince and Boozer. I hate to admit it but Isiahs draft track record blows Donnie's away.

I was afraid that Dolan would put pressure on Walsh to get Melo. I never thought he would actually screw it up this badly. FML.

Yep and this ties the whole speculation about why Walsh hasn't been extended together. Dolan REEEEAAAAAALLLLLYYYYY wants Melo. Of course the next thing to take from this, considering that Dolan probably doesn't know Melo from Mutombo, who exactly is whispering in his years to go full tilt for Melo? Yeah...not good.

This article by this Denver Post writer is amusing. They want to test Melo and see if he caves. Interesting. The problem is, if he was interested in caving, I think we'd have already seen a different demeanor/approach from Melo. He could still cave at the 11th hour.

As for the Knicks, I'd focus on something else. I'm sure Denver will drag this out till the last minute and the Knicks should keep tabs on it but address their other needs (another big, another guard). Denver's front office is dysfunctional and they don't seem to have a clear picture of what they want to do.

I'm more curious to see how Melo responds. He doesn't strike me as someone who won't follow through on what he really wants. Maybe I'm being optimistic -- because usually athletes DO cave for money -- but Melo really seems to have made up his mind and he has the kind of personality (it seems to me) that will not knuckle under pressure.

I'd put money on the call just being pretty basic, like lets get a move on, **** or get off the bucket cause there are other moves we would like to make of course not in those words.

I agree. I think for someone like Melo who has cared so much about public perception through all of this, for him to cave in at the last minute and accept the extension with the Nuggets would be almost LeBron-like. All that for nothing. At the last minute. Clearly for the money. Can't see that happening at all. He's sticking to his guns.

Donnie did say he had a feel for what will happen. I'm sure that was reported to Dolan and henceforth Dolan's call was made. Is this a finalizing thing or a plea deal now? I'm scared.

I can only imagine we have backup deals waiting on the side. Especially given we got Minny to take on Curry in a three team trades. This should open up a lot of opportunities from teams that want to unload a salary and is willing to give up some talent to do that.

Honestly I don't mind it. I don't completely trust Dolan but I also don't believe he's half as horrible as most fans/media believe. I think he can have a positive impact by helping the Knicks go around these two clowns in Denver's front office.

I actually think Dolan would defer about the basketball part of the decision -- he's probably just trying to get a sense of what Kroenke is willing or not willing to do and whether a deal can be made.

If Dolan went to the Kroenkes with a last ditch effort then we need to walk away. Nothing good will come of it. Reload for the summer and make another run at Melo. -Jitpal
