I like Jimmer but not for this team and not for this coach. We need a different type of PG if we're going to battle Rose, Wall, Westbrook and Rondo the next few years without playing defense. You can only expect Jimmer's d to get worse playing with D'Antoni. If our coach was Thibodeau, I'd be ok with Jimmer. But you can't have D'Antoni coach someone like Jimmer. It's a recipe for failure.

:clown: :clown: :clown: :nonono: :nonono: :nonono:

People were saying the same sh*t leading up to the Drafts in past Years and in their Rookie Seasons for Westbrook and Curry.

Both of those guys proved you haters wrong.

Just cause a guy isn't dropping nearly 10 APG in College and is scoring nearly 30 PPG, doesn't mean he can't be a good PG.

Like I said above, one of the reasons I want Jimmy so bad is I seem him as a PERFECT fit to develop in this System. He sooooooooooooo reminds me of Nash-lite.

--Mags :)

Chill he's not in Nash's ballpark. Jimmer at best can be something like Bibby with the Kings.

Yeah, cause Curry totally sucks on the no-defense Warriors.

TBH, all we need a good Center to combat those guys. When we had size, those guys had trouble penetrating into the paint. Their Game isn't Perimeter, so when we also had Steals-type Guards we also had success halting them (meaning when Felton and Douglas combined to cut off the backcourt).

I would be shocked, simply shocked, if he fell to us but if he does we have to take him.

The only thing Curry and Jimmer have in common in the ability to shoot the ball. Body wise and athleticism is not even close.

Either way, Jimmer is not falling to 17.

1st. Don't tell me to "chill" bro. You don't know me and are "new" to these Boards (though I suspect otherwise).

2nd. Yes, he is a lot like Nash-lite. I don't care what anyone says. This dude (in the right system) has the tools to be a cross between Nash and Curry.

It's not that serious BRO so calm down. Just having conversation. You can think he's Magic or Duhon for all I care.

I am intrigued by Jimmer too but if we have to trade up to get him, what would it cost? Fields + #17 pick?

We would need Fields since our backcourt is so barren that I am not sure about making that move.

1st. You don't tell someone to "chill" when they make a comparison that isn't in agreement with your own comparison/projection, and then when they call you on it...tell them it's not that serious. Because it's apparently serious enough to you.

2nd. We can agree to disagree on Jimmy.

I'm guessing more likely it might cost us Douglas. As a Team might want an NBA-ready PG (IE: Proven) in return. We MIGHT be able to squeeze a 2nd Rounder of it, but who knows.

Utah at #12
Phoenix at #13
Pacers at #15

Those are the main Jimmer Threats for the Knicks (not counting on Jordan and the Warriors doing something weird at #9 and #11)

In Utah's case it obviously depends on who they pick at #3. If they like Knight or Walker enough to go guard that high, Jimmer falls to the Suns and a lot of Jazz Fans get really pissed.

Phoenix is an obvious fit with the uptempo style and Nash there to mentor him a year or two. Don't know how comitted they are to Brooks, but even if they keep him, Jimmer seems like a solid pick for them.

If the Suns pass too, the only threat left would be the Pacers at #15. Rockets and 76ers are pretty much set at Guard while Indiana has a couple of guys coming off the books, and you know how they love taking the white college studs over there.

Agreed. Sad, but all of what you said is likely true. And I'm still not counting out the Nets.

Hansbrough and Jimmy would be a VERY nice combo, with Hibbert manny the Paint Defensive wise, and Granger on the otherside of the Wing. :(

Hes not dropping to 17 in this weak a draft, no chance

there are too few SGs in the league of any ability and Steph Curry has taught people that scoring guards can be translated into something useful at the point in todays game

not that they are similar
but someone will take that chance and make that comparison

If we can make that move, that would be terrific. Losing Douglas would hurt a bit because he plays with heart but if we can also get a 2nd round pick, you do it. I just don't want another "Stephen Curry" moment...

We need a guard who can just straight up hit open shots because Melo and STAT would have a field day passing him the ball when they are double teamed. Just the thought has me cheesing! :D

I can't see Donnie picking this guy. I see him pulling a "Miller over Alford" in this draft.

Quite a few Teams have interest in both Douglas and Fields given their good Seasons so far. It all depends on what we're willing to give up IF we're thinking to Trade up (incase Jimmy doesn't fall).

But, I really do hope we can land Jimmy without giving up a lot (if anything at all).

I can see the NY Post headlines now: "Jimmer of Hope"

Return to New York Knicks
