Phoenix would probably want Fields also. But I imagine they could get better value for Nash elsewhere, in the first place.

That trade is hideous for Orlando. They take on more salary and lose the two best players in that deal.

lol@magnumt

thinking that the Hornets would take Amare for CP3 or that the Magic would consider Amare for Dwight.

Phoenix could not even get JJ Hickson for Amare at the deadline. Amare does not have much trade value with his contract and injury history.

No, NY would have to add an asset to make that trade. Denver doesn't want Billups back, he didn't fit the system. Plus Lawson is now the starter, the FO knows GK is a moron and would return Billups as starter.

I would disagree that system was going nowhere until Billups pushed them over the hump, I am sorry you are not giving enough credit to Billups and you know what you are not alone that has been his career since coming into the NBA. HE had his brief moment in the spotlight where he was given his due while in Detroit for a year of recognition or two.

Now he is somehow not "that guy" once again.

Denver was 1st round road speed umps until Billups got there.

You didn't follow Denver at all, did you? Denver always made the playoffs in the harder West, due to Melo carrying them. The reason they couldn't get any further, was because some of those teams shouldn't have been in the playoffs. Either due to a lot of injuries, poorly constructed rosters, and/or big "me first" players like AI and Camby.

Now if you were paying attention, Denver's system is to run, run, run. Lawson would speed the game up when he came in, and Billups would come in and slow the game down. Denver does not have a half court offense, so slowing the game down, was just hurting the team.

So it really doesn't matter if he is "that guy" or not. He did not fit the system. Lawson has been playing great as the starter and fits the system to a T. GK. however can't be trusted to keep Lawson as the starter if Billups is brought back. So Denver would be dumb to make that trade.

Absolutely not.

Even though I like Nash, I wouldn't do that trade at all.

Yeah, we may be "win now" but not to the point of giving up two good prospects and an expiring (who can still play) for a 38-year-old point guard upgrade when we can just stand pat and have a very solid veteran starting point guard in Billups. Plus Warrick is a scrub.

trade Billups expiring for 2 role players with longer contracts. For example, we would trade Billups, cash, and Fields and take back Devin Harris and Paul Millsap. UTA gets Billups to mentor Burks and save $16m, plus add a young wing in Fields. NY adds to above-average players in Millsap and Harris. Millsap will be a great glue guy off the bench and Harris is a good player, who hopefully can finally get it together under D'Antoni.

Yes the jump shot needs improvement and millsap is only 6-8, but our roster looks much more complete. Mia should've won the championship playing most 4th quarters with Bosh and Hasslem at the 4-5, I think Amare-Millsap is a better version of that.

Harris
Shumpert
Anthony
Stoudemire
Turiaf

Douglas
Millsap

That Nash deal is horrible for us.

I think we really have to try and trade Douglas for another rotation player.

Lopez or Casspi would be good.
