I am pretty sure Lowry and Martin are on their way out as well.

Good job by the Bucks taking advantage of a team desperate to land a superstar, really like this move for Milwaukee.

I wish we had all those damn draft picks in the 1st round. If they end up trading them all for Howard, and he ends up leaving then damn they just completely screwed themselves.

Morey at it again...always playing 2K. I liked te Bud trade, but not a fan of this one ( admittedly, have not thought about it much, yet). He's gotta do something with the picks (trade up or for good players) or Houston will be mediocre...again...and again.

Weve had 3 first round picks twice in the past 20 or so years.

99: Iverson, Camby, Marbury, Kobe, Adul Raheem, Ray Allen, Peja, Steve Nash. 10 All stars total in this draft.

We get: John Wallace, Walter McCartey, and Dontae Jones (played 15 games in his career).

The other year we have pick 9, 21, and 30. Channing Frye, Nate Robinson, and then the one good pick...David Lee.

Gimme players that have actually panned out over draft picks.

That being said, I like what Houston is doing, they are collecting assets and they have alot of players that can help some teams. No stars though. Is the 12 much different then number 14 though.?

Nice move for Milwaukee

Jennings-Ellis-Dunleavy-Ilyasova-Dalembert puts them into a playoff spot for sure.

Doing work? He's been active like this the last 2-3 years, but we've yet to see it amount to anything. Right now he has 2 late lotto picks and the 18th pick..correct me if I'm wrong, but Orlando was looking for two picks in the top 10, so Morey has a lot more work to do if he's looking to make a play for Howard. I'm also assuming that Orlando will ask for at least one of Dragic, Lowery or Martin in return...perhaps one of their bigs? Even if they can land Howard, I can't imagine whatever they try to put around him will be better than what he's had in Orlando.

+1

Morey has the same plan every year

It's only Knicks fan that put this man on a pedestal because we have been so deprived of having top draft picks that we idolize anyone who actually has a philosophy of collecting them.

Via Realgm Wiretap:

The Rockets are stockpiling high draft picks with the hope of acquiring Dwight Howard, according to sources.

Houston pursued a blockbuster deal for Pau Gasol last December and he remains available from the Lakers, but a source said that he is no longer a target.

The Rockets currently own the No. 12, 14 and 16 picks.

Lowry and all those picks should get him an All Star. He'll probably just trade Lowry for more picks, though.

I'm not sure why Morey was so touted to begin with but neither am I sure why he's being hated on since. Is it because he has our pick, maybe?

He had inherited two max contracts that were soon afterwards no longer playing as such. So until last year he didn't really have a huge amount of flexibility. He essentially has been working on an asset stocking plan for 2 years. He made a stab at some name players but didn't really have the pieces.

Now he has the assets he's been looking for - an expiring contract, a ton of young players, and capspace. This offseason/season should be his big play. But I don't really see how people are saying he should have rebuilt already. It doesn't really work that way... takes patience.

Kevin Martin (expiring $12m)
Luis Scola (3 yrs, $30m)
Kyle Lowry (2 yrs, $11m)
Goran Dragic (UFA with Bird Rights)

Rookie contracts: Chandler Parsons, Courtney Lee, Patrick Patterson, Marcus Morris
'12 Draft Picks: 12, 16, 18
Cap Space: >$25m

Do I have that correct? Sure seems like they're positioning for a Dwight Howard trade. Lowry, picks, and a giant TPE for Dwight & Hedo. This would be a very good squad depending on how much gas Scola and Kevin Martin have left:

Dwight
Scola/Patterson
Hedo/Parsons
Martin/Lee
Dragic
