Brownsville's Finest wrote:Lin is gone, and it prollly a good sign. heres why, if they thought lin was really the star we all want him to be they would have resigned him no matter what. Obviously they think felton for a little over 3mil a year is greater or equal to Lin. The other good sign about this is that the team is making BASKETBALL MOVES not PR MOVES

Well Woodson does like a veteran team so this would certainly fit the kind of team he wants which definitely is a basketball move and not a PR one since you are structuring the team around what the coach wants and what fits the coach. That said though, the Knicks have to be sure Melo and Amare can deliver a championship within the next three years. Can we contend with the Heat with this roster? Not really that convinced we can yet. But, I'll wait and see. Knee-jerk reactions lead people to overreact.

If Lin were to stay, I think Lin would get the scoring option role with Kidd helping to facilitate. Similar to how it was in Dallas with Kidd playing alongside Barea/Terry. Add that to the already mentioned of Kidd mentoring Lin.

It's also gives the Knicks guards better competition in practice. Lin was fighting for his job/minutes from day 1 on the Knicks, having Felton, Kidd, and Prigoni only ensures that Lin will be right back at it.

I see Lin and Felton playing together

Felton played as a SG in Cha under Brown and played some SG in Port

He's strong enough to defend the position and is a pretty fair shooter

Lin and he should be a nightmare off penetration in a league where you get fouls called on any perimeter contact at all

I like this too. It gives the Knicks more options to attack on offense. If they want an attacking back court, they can go Lin/Felton or bring in JR Smith for more size. If they want a facilitator + scorer, they still have that option with Kidd/Prigioni as the facilitator if Lin/Felton aren't expected to. All this with Lin still looking to improve and giving Shumpert more time to come back.

actually, at this point of his career, he is nothing more than just a shooter on offense.

Kidd always had a horrible long game.

So is 37% on 4.7 attempts per game considered horrible these days? Because that is Kidd since 2005. That is terrific.
