One of things you learn in covering #Knicks is you don't cross owner James Dolan. He is a very loyal guy but when disloyalty is shown, you are done with him. That may very well be case here with Jeremy Lin. It wasn't just the money, which was obscene in third year. As we have reported last couple of days, the renegotiation of an offer sheet that was agreed upon and leaked to press - after Woodson publicly said they'd match and he'd be starter - was a kick in gut to organization.

this along with the poison pill, him being unproven, opting not to give it a try in the playoffs. prolly equals deal breaker

No he won't. He hasn't came to his senses since he became the face of the franchise... :)

A large drop in MSG stock might help.

Knicks: we'll match any offer
- jeremy or his agent then goes to the rockets' summer league game yesterday or the day before and asks for a higher offer sheet

no one sees anything wrong with this? The first offer sheet never made it to the grunwald's desk.

Considering how much money Lin made and will make the Knicks, yes he is.

No, he didn't. There's only 1 offer sheet. There was an earlier verbal agreement, and then there was a single offer sheet that the Rockets presented him, where they increased the terms. Where are you getting this "two offer sheets" stuff from? Unless you're making it up out of thin air?

Why do you think Camby was traded? On Dolan's orders.

I Like Lin....but thank God all this drama will be over, enjoy houston jeremy! Felton averaged 17pts and 9assist over a longer period of time with a worse Knicks team...Lin can't even play with a 3 time olympian / one of the best scorers in the NBA (CARMELO!)

Same with Sprewell, right?

That sounds exactly like Dolan. I think Lin is gone.

In the game of Business that we all play, I still would have asked for more money if given the opportunity to. I, However, wouldn't have expected it to actually happen...

The knicks better match Lin's offer sheet. That's all I'm saying.

not matching would be stupid. but let's be honest, dolan is right to be annoyed that he tried to squeeze more money out of him.

I've never held out much hope of us ever be a consistent NBA threat historically like the Lakers, as long as Dolan is the owner. This move would only reinforce it.
