Zero "Experts" picked NY to win the Atlantic.
Zero "Experts" picked Woody as COY.

sad. Someone even picked Vinny Del Negro.

If we keep up this rate, Woodson is the runaway favorite. Just an amazing coach. I think future HOFer is definitely possible.

Great coaches aren't allowed to win COY. Don't think Phil has ever won one either. Same with EOTY. Great teams hardly ever have one.

Though, I might add, the Knicks currently have two in their FO.

It is premature to say HOF...but sure there's potential for it...I think he's hands down the COY right now and if things stay this way, it'd be insanity for him to lose to anyone imo. He has the Knicks who have spent all this time without 2 projected starters, injuries within the line-up as well (Melo missed games, Kidd missed games, Sheed and Camby missed games), and clear developments in a roster that many felt was too old to learn much (Melo's defense, Novak adding nuances and Tyson being even more efficient than ever)...as the second best team in the League (by record)...he CAN'T lose imo.

I think, while it may be unfair, the media is gonna wait to see how he handles Stat's return before giving him any praise.

He kind of fits the COTY profile too as a previously middling coach that breaks out and exceeds expectations.

I buy it.

Mark Jackson is definitely a candidate but I don't think he should win it. I thought the W's should have been a playoff team last season with that roster. He's obviously getting the hang of the head coaching thing though.

I'm pretty excited for Kidd's inevitable coaching career as well.

Shows you how utterly clueless and non-credible ESPN, this is why I rarely buy the medias narrative

Nobody knew he could keep it up. Lets not pretend many of us predicted this record. Most of us were concerned with this and nobody knew Felton/Kidd would be this good.

Regardless, Woodson is a virtual lock for COY at this point, far more than Melo is a lock for MVP.

I know, no one could have predicted it was sustainable, but my point is ESPN, the supposed experts and analysts, picked 12 different coaches for COY over the guy with the highest win percentage as head coach last year in Woodson, that's quite an oversight, if Woody wins it.

To be fair, I cut off the top two rows of predictions (you know, for effect). One vote was cast predicting Woody, and it came from Israel Gutierez, ESPN NBA writer and columnist for the Miami Herald. Props to him.

To me, the two real challenges facing coach:

1. Incorporating Amar'e. Not as easy as people think it's gonna be.
2. Winning in the Playoffs. Managing minutes to stay healthy. Maintaining poise, execution. Gonna be tough.

Coach of the year is basically his to lose at this moment. If we keep up this pace I don't see how he doesn't win.
