He needs to coach College. In college you can recruit players to fit your system..

In the pro’s most good coaches adjust their system to their personnel.

Denver had three centers on their roster. They've got to move at lease McGee on a deal like that. Lakers have no use for McGee. Has to be a three team deal.

Also Chandler is still injured.

Yeah... maybe send McGee to Toronto and Bargs to LA, along with Brewer and Dre? There's definitely something there. As a fantasy-owner of Ty Lawson, I really want him to get paired up with Gasol.

Makes total sense for one of the best passing big man in the game who has won two championships as the main post player to all of a sudden late in his career be a spot up 3pt shooter.

Come one guys don't you see the genius in this system?/green font.

Ill be surprised if they dont fire him before the end of the season

this is gonna be the Lakers version of what happened with us and Larry Brown

its one thing to make Howard miserable in a contract year, and its another thing to move Pau for whatever because D'Antoni cant adjust but its a game ender to piss off Kobe and eventually it'll get to Kobe vs D'Antoni and Kobe will win.

talk about pressure on Nash!!!

Atta boy dumbtoni. I didn't wanna see the Lakers a their full potential in the finals anyways. Now I'd surprised if they get passed round one.

I am pretty sure Kobe is pretty happy. He has been getting his numbers.

My feeling is that the organization's number one priority is to keep Howard and preserve the 2014 cap space. They will move Gasol before even thinking about firing DAntoni.

I think that's right. That they're hedging their bets and trying to play the long game with Howard. It would be somewhat ironic if they brought Ryan Anderson in... Bargs seems the obvious choice all around.

They would do the Bargs move only if Bargs move a Hedo move. What do I mean by that? Hedo, in order to be moved from Toronto to Phoenix, accepted his last year contract to be reduced to 6 million guaranteed from 12 million guaranteed.

Lakers management are extremely careful when it comes to long term planning. They are locked to 2014 cap space and they won't change their stance unless they get a clear star in return. Maybe a Love for Gasol trade would change their mind.

Ryan Anderson is a bit more possibility since his 2014 contract is at 8 million, but I won't even bet on that. Lakers get what they want. I won't be shocked if they get Love at the end of the day.

Sounds a lot like what Melo went through with D'antoni.

Makes me want to dig up some old threads and show up some of those people who defended D'antoni. They would argue that he's a good coach, blame players and make excuses for him

Go dig up the thread where Dumbtoni resigned....all of his supporters and Melo bashers show their faces in the first ten pages.

I admire a man that learns from his mistakes and rebuilds his life when given another chance. I have no sympathy for an arrogant person that is so suborn that he ends up destroying himself when given a second chance to redeem himself.

As another poster stated Coach D should look to coach at the college level and recruit the type of players he needs for his system. The Lakers are getting exactly what they deserve. This is what happens when daddy turns the business over to their incompetent spoiled children.

Playing Gasol/Howard together is more than just having problems on the offensive end though. It is the defensive problems that ended up causing Mike Brown to be fired. People seem to not accept the fact that Gasol has declined. Just see his last playoff run under Phil Jackson. At this point, Gasol needs to play center and center only.
