I can only pray that STAT has a bounce back season and can stay healthy all year! This was never suppose to be the Melo show, it was suppose to be the STAT & Melo show!

We need a legitimate power forward that will give us rebounding and is good enough to guard threes playing with Melo. Ama're doesn't fit the bill. Taj Gibson Gibson would be perfect.

With a rim protector like I said, no. Chandler is more of an issue than Amare.

It doesn't matter if a young Dikembe Mutombo is your center, Ama're and Melo playing together will hurts us defensively. Besides, assuming Ama're is going to be healthy is assuming a lot.

Given our cap situation, no one is going to be Melo's batman here in New York.

Amar'e is a 6th man for the rest of his career, he can not be a second option to Melo, hell, he can't even be a 3rd because he can't stay healthy.

So now that I've brought that to your attention we're going to need a Power Forward & a Center with an offensive game. Who will they be & where are we gonna find those two players?

If he can stay healthy it changes everything though. He's easily capable of putting up 18/7 in 30 MPG. Amare, himself knows he's not a 6th man. Its quite clear that he can't be a 6th man.

No, he just needs a bat man. There are maybe 5 or 6 better bat men than Melo. We gave him an inconsistent, low IQ, chucking bench player as our #2 option, and he finally showed his true colors.

Nate and Jamal were 2 of NY's most hated players, and they played the exact style that JR does on offense. Both were ridiculed, yet JR is given a free reign.

But Amar'e can't stay healthy man

He just had two knee surgeries in one season, he'll be lucky to sniff 30 MPG for the remainder of his career.

Relying on Amare to be healthy is front office malpractice.

At best Amare can give next season is 26mpg and play around 60-64 games averaging 14-15 and 6-7.

Like I said its hard to see Amare keep missing games. I think he's through that stage of his career, where he keeps having bad breaks with injuries.

The dude's gotta have a healthy season some time & he's due.

Not sure that's how the human body works. It's not JR's jumpers.

He's the the four but after this season it's clear we need a PF to take the pressure and physical toll off of Melo. And it's looking like Tyson & Stat are the guys we need to shop around the league.

Well...here's to hoping he can do that. That's a lot of optimism that even I can't show for Stat.

theres no way your getting rid of STAT, we're stuck with him whether we like or not. Melo showed alot of heart these playoffs but i saw him getting worn out. Playing out of position, banging with the big bodies will take a toll on on your body. I will not be happy seeing him play the 4 again next season, he has to play his natural position. If for some reason there is some light in the tunnel regarding stat's health status come training camp, you have to play him at the 4 and start him.

the pacers were playing carmelo the same way teams play against dwight: let carmelo get as many points while keeping his teammates cold.
