The real question is when does this guy get invited back to training camp?

If he flips his hair up and changes his name to Shurnovak, I'd be down 8-)

Decent player. Doubt he makes any NBA team.

I love our reactions to small moves like this, I really do.

Other teams make a trade and you see a three page thread with some normal discussion. We invite a guy to camp and you have these hilarious gifs

Wouldn't have it any other way.

Id really like to see him get a shot on this team

we need a PG with such exceptional D in todays league
if we can teach him to shoot we have a solid player

Think we should get this cat up in this b!tch on potential alone and what he brings.

That's the last spot on the roster, but we also need a legit backup center since our backups are all PF/C types.

Think we should drop Leslie, I just don't trust that he'll "turn it around" and have doubts that he'll ever even get a chance in the rotation.

And in his place grab a Haddadi for his size and rebounding, Barron because we've seen he can grab some bounds, or take a flyer on a Whiteside because he's still young, even though I wouldn't expect much at this point from him.

We can worry about a third sting center later on in the season. With Smith's injury and suspension better to have an extra defesive wing that can handle the ball.

Disagree because what's out there now is good value for third string C and may not be available later.

Smith will return and we'll be fine. But a real reserve C is a need from the get go. Some insurance for Tyson is wise.

All those guys might be available let's be real. Thwy might not play in the NBA this year. Plus I'm sure Jordan will be there.all these big suck anyway.

You said it yourself, they "might" be available.

Haddadi will not be.
Barron might be. The guy is underrated, for a 3rd stringer he does the job
Whiteside I think someone grabs him too so I doubt it. Low expectations high upside.

These guys are better options than the scrap heap behind them

And speaking of available, you could just as if not more easily grab a wing at any point

I can name ten seven footers just as scrubby as the three guys you think are gets. I doubt you can name five 6'5 combo guards that play defense. Not to mention 22 years of age.

I dont think our need for a backup center will be as strong early in the season as it will midway and later

however our access to good options for backup centers may dwindle as the season continues

but overall Im more excited about the talent and potential of Murry than I am of any other player we have discussed, especially centers

in my mind Murry has more potential to make this team and serve us effectively than does Leslie. We shall see. I trust the actual architects and coaches who build the team and judge the players

idk right now at point we have felton priggi and udrih. at small forward we have melo and Ron. Leslie could be good insurance if he gives effort. IMO we need a invite like stsckhouse or rip to give Leslie roster competition. Murray looks like an indicator of a trade mid season

The Knicks have 3 point guards so they don't really need the PG portion that comes with a "combo guard". What they could use, aside from a backup C, is probably a wing (someone that can play SG and SF)...at least until JR Smith returns.

In that case, the following guys come to mind:

Rajah Bell
DeShawn Stevenson
Dahntay Jones
Marquis Daniels
James Johnson
Mikael Pietrus (if he's healthy again)
Sam Young

All 6 of these guys can defend and half of them can shoot the occasional 3.

Once JR Smith is healthy I can't really seeing any daylight for Murry at all. With Smith they'll have 3 PG's (Felton, Prigini, Udrih) and 3 SG's (Smith, Shumpert and Hardaway) that should slot ahead of him in the depth chart. I do like Murry but I don't think Murry will get much play unless a couple guys get injured.

I se Murry as a developmental player

someone we can groom over the season into a lock down defender, not someone we should consider relying on this year unless he really surprises and develops very quickly, or there is need via injury

at SF we should consider Shump an option too as he spent most of the season last year there

basically the conversation comes down to the last roster spot and the question of Leslie

do we fill the last spot with Hadaddi or Hamilton? then its between Leslie and Murry at that point. Unless we really do cut Tyler because of the injury, which I really dont think we do

which is totally fine

hes a developmental project
every team should have several

Tyler is the same IMO

projects like those two should be on the roster, should get burn in blowouts and should be on 2 yr unguarenteed deals

Hell, thats what Leslie is too
