I'd take a 1st rounder for him...would give us 2 1st round picks in the 2017 draft

it would make sense for him to be worth a 1st round pick, since Phil was able to get 2 second-round picks for Pablo Prigioni.

these tweets say they were trying to trade him this summer and couldn't. phil is as guilty as anyone.

no i won't, clearly o'quinn is more talented but no way is a bench player 'part of the core'

the core is kristaps porzingis and willy hernangomez.

We probably do have to move him in the future when willy learns how to play real nba defense, but why would we trade him for a 1st round pick now when we can do it in the off season? O'quinn doesn't really have an injury history so he should be just as tradeable in the summer. the risk/reward seems low to me.

First round picks are going to be an incredibly valuable commodity in this draft, one of the strongest potentially in years. I doubt O'Quinn could fetch even a late first rounder. His extremely affordable contract might be the reason we could get a first, but I doubt it.

Don't think you are correct here -- KOQ had opportunity to show himself in ORL and they moved on from him.

He has NO post-game, his perimeter game is shaky (lack confidence/range) and he is erratic (takes too many chances) with this passing game. He is glued to the floor on both sides, he doesn't get out to perimeter shooters on pick/roll and he often is slow/sluggish getting back on D in transition. Personally I would prefer A-Nicholson to KOQ because Nicholson has legit range and back-to-basket game.

That's probably why Nicholson is making almost $3M more per season.

Didn't realize that but doesn't make me want KOQ at -$3M less any more.

I happen to love what Kyle brings to this team. His toughness alone is worth the contract

thats fair, but you don't know for how much? I assume if he was willing to give him away he could have easily but he wasn't just a throw in. I think they were trying to use him to move Calderon contract (were the rumors). Which in todays market meant phil valued him as a 1st round pick. Teams now realizing they probably should have taken that deal.

The timing of this comment makes me wonder if the Warriors are one of those teams. They need size and would LOVE to have Kyle. Imagine him on that team

But what do they have to offer? Nothing of value for the Knicks to be interested in (of course not talking about their core players)

because o'quinn playing at a high level might just be a hot streak.

if the trade benefits both teams, you consider it.
