Orlando won the tank war tonight but we are now 1 game behind Sacramento so there's a positive.

This New York Times article about a Hawks player could not stop putting salt on some Knicks wounds:
As it turns out, there is one. This season, for the first time, the N.B.A. is tracking charges, among other so-called hustle stats like deflections. Through Friday, Marreese Speights of the Los Angeles Clippers and Kemba Walker of the Charlotte Hornets had each drawn 26 charges to rank second behind Ilyasova. (For the sake of comparison, Derrick Rose led the Knicks — with three.)

Better for the tank that we didn't get him. But man it would of been fun with him and the young guys. I really hope the rumors that we were the ones asking for more arent true. Dude has been playing solid ball lately

It's more a product of KA Towns 39 pts and the Wolves' front court than it was Rubio's play. Keep in mind, Wall STILL did what he wanted to do...at the end of the day Gortat who bullied the Knicks ran into King Kong and got owned like a b#tch.

LOL....yeah, because Ricky didn't slow down John Wall and KAT had a monster game....Ricky had a very small hand in helping in that win. Who exactly slows Wall down from doing what he wants to? Fact is, Rubio essentially went punch for punch with Wall by matching his pace. The Wolves were able to run just as much as the Wiz, who are an incredible fastbreak team. Ricky will always have his haters, but he's been playing out of his mind the past 15-20 games.
Rubio would have made the Knicks so much better, but the Knicks rightfully didn't want to give up their pick or Willy.....which would have been the actual cost of Rubio, not Rose.
Why does Rose even play anymore.....no one wants that guy.

Stop. This is ridiculous. Rose is an expiring. Rubio has TWO more seasons. He's no starter.
John Wall 14-19 from the free throw line. How do you break down a Thibs defense? You penetrate and draw fouls to loosen up the action. Finished with 27 pts. Outside of Bradley Beal who is a weapon on that front court? Morris? No. Gortat? Pulease. Porter Jr? Maybe.
Rubio is a victim every time of pick and rolls. He's horrible shooter. 13% LOWER in the paint. I DO appreciate how the Wolves are dressing him cause someone will be stupid enough to pick up that contract.
OWNED.

Yeah - that was my angle. Get two players that fit the 5-year plan timeline instead of just one. That said, I tend to believe the rumor that Minny wanted more for him. It passes my smell test. If Minny really wants to move him for cap space (which I don't quite understand) we can probably still work a deal with our cap space this summer. We'd be able to send out some small pieces and a sizeable TPE.

It's amazes me that after years of awful PG play, folks still can't appreciate watching a guy like Rubio work. In that video alone he did a bunch of things DRose hasnt done much of, if at at all, this year.
Hitting KAT with an entry pass to the left shoulder when Gortat was overplaying the right, so KAT could make a quick move where he had the advantage. Hitting KAT off the PnR immediately before the defense recovered so he can get an open shot. Hitting players in stride with a perfect pass so they could finish at the rim. Reading the defense and hitting Dieng over the top for a dunk. Stopping a fast break by stealing the outlet pass and getting an easy bucket. Just a tremendous game from Rubio based on that stuff alone. Mix in the great shooting (8/15 FGA , 2-5 3PT / 4-4 FT) and it only makes the amazing stat line of 22 PTS 19 ASTS 3 STLS shine even more.
If the reports are true, we were asking for something more initially than just a straight swap. There's a reason why everyone was thinking MIN would be crazy to do that. One player puts your players in a position to be their best, the other only cares about putting himself in the best position to score. One is leading a late season playoff push and the other has been a 5 star tank general this year.
Tack on 5 PTS to KP & WHG with this guy on the roster.

Lol @ people hating in rubio. Wtf do you want from a PG? Not every PG can be Westbrook. This dude does literally everything Westbrook does except score.

I'm actually all for rubio if we don't have melo. Rubio coming here with melo still around is pointless. Melo calls his own plays majority of the time and plus we have a good thing going with our tank. We are eyeing on a bigger prize

That kid has a bright future. Add him to Jokic, Gallo/Chandler, Faried, Barton, and Gary Harris and they have a team!
My eyes glaze over when reading alternative stat (not advanced stat) narratives that go many paragraphs long. If you can not make your point in 2 paragraphs it may not be a great point.

After what Lebron did 2 times in last 7 years i dont think tanking hard is shameless move.
Lebron still cries when he doesnt have the best team in the league. But his fans and all bball media praising him for 6 consecutive NBA Finals. He always played with bunch of other franchise players in last 6 years but somehow he got the all praise not critics.
Anyway its similar to Lebron's despicable hunt for success.
Lakers management knows that NO ONE going to remember what they did in last 20 games of their meaningless 16-17 season.
If they draft Fultz and become contender in next 2-3 years, everyone going to praise them.
I dont think people care much how they did it.
Lakers might become successful in 2020's and we may still suck. I know that no one going to defend Knicks franchise for our meaningless wins in 16-17 season.
Lets be honest; we are tanking accidentally again.
We didnt tank for KP. Phil Jackson's plan sucks too much and somehow it becomes a tanking season.
