If this was discussed already in another thread, my bad, there's so much going on in different threads that I can't keep up.

I heard it live on radio and it sounded like his source said a deal based around KP for Kawhi. Might have been KP and #8, might have been some giant trade with KP, Melo for Green, LMA Kawhi so that Spurs can sign Paul. Might have been KP + 8 + 2018 swap + unprotected 2019. Might have been Spurs trolling Phil.

I have really really high hope for KP but I would trade him for Kawhi ASAP.

Unless Spurs found out Kawhi injury is going to persisted through out his career I don't see why the Spurs would do this trade.

I used to think SAS had sources until about 8-10 years ago when he said Kobe is demanding a trade and will never play for the Lakers again. 2 days later Kobe signs a multi year extension. Since then I've known SAS has as much knowledge as my buddies at the bar.

Yeah, Kawhi is a top player in the league, and far better than what we'd be giving up, but the supporting cast we'd have is not nearly enough to go anywhere
We'd be a mid-40s win team for a couple years til Kawhi left, then start rebuilding again
Essesntially, you're kicking the rebuild 5 years down the road to get a couple mid-seeded playoff teams
