Good news The Southern Poverty Law Center is getting involved and demanding a federal investigation. That Group has great lawyers.

the cops were just as likely to carry out a lynching of a black person as the vigilantes were so I guess they figured they'd cut out the middle man, if you call the cops on someone especially a black person you're potentially getting that person executed so you better be sure
The dad had worked for the DA’s office so why didn’t he just pick up the phone and call one of his buddies in the PD?

It's all senseless violence that ruins lives.
I agree with your point. When white people enter into the wrong place and get hurt or robbed, the cops and criminal justice system are usually on their side. Wish that the justice system worked the same for all people. Definitely unfair.
Sure, and maybe if the media and our elected officials would gt a hard on for the massively overwhelming amount of black people killed by other black people we could actually put a dent in the loss of life. But nobody gives a **** when a black kid kills a black kid either because it doesn't get clicks.
Or when some Billy Bob just up and murders his wife amirite? Same stuff, really.
One generates more interest because it's a hate crime.

Turns out the murderer, who is a retired investigator with the local DAs office, was also previously a cop there.

Agree, the media doesn't care when poor white people murder each other either. Regardless this crime is clearly motivated by two deranged individuals who ambushed, assaulted and murdered a man out for a jog. Unless some other overwhelming evidence surfaces they should get the chair.
Edit: reading their "defense" is they were making a citizens arrest. Which is laughable. They aren't even claiming life or property were actually at risk (which from the video would have been easily dismissed as a lie).

I'd rather cut to the chase and call them murderous racist individuals. Why? Because words are important. If you are going to fix a problem, it needs to be accurately identified first. The problem isnt "cops" or "the media" and it isn't about being "deranged", it's racism.
BTW watching that video made me absolutely sick to my stomach...like there was nothing dude could have done..and nothing he could have done to warrant getting shot down like a defenseless dog.. Cowardly racist pieces of ****

I have to agree with this. If there was a previous report of a white kid who was burglarizing the neighborhood and a white kid went jogging threw the neighborhood and stopped to look in that construction, you think these guys would've hopped into their pickup truck with their rifles? Please.

Re: OT: Trayvon Martin 2.0 in Georgia?
The footage on this one is haunting. They literally set up an ambush for that kid who was none the wiser.
Are you kidding me?
One of the prosecutors who was previously assigned to the case, George E. Barnhill of the Waycross Judicial District, had advised police that there was insufficient probable cause to arrest Mr. Arbery’s pursuers, arguing that they had acted legally under the state’s citizen arrest and self-defense statutes, according to documents obtained by The New York Times.
Mr. Barnhill eventually asked to be removed from the case because his son worked in the Waycross prosecutor’s office with Mr. McMichael.
Are you kidding me?

I wish I could say “Yes.” When something like this happens, they protect their own until the end.
If they don’t come back with murder charges there’s going to be a riot, coronavirus it not.

They are obviously racist. But they are cowards and murderers first. We pass people who are racists everyday in the supermarket. I consider abject racism to be a form of derangement. But I don't think it changes the severity of a cold blooded murder.
I'm Colombian and people hate me for that, but murder is murder. The motive is hate. Not passion or self defense. These two men hated the victim and premeditation seems obvious from that video. If it makes you more mad at these cowards that's justifiable. But saying you'll 'fix' racism by punishing these pieces of **** harder is laughable.
There are lessons from history and all around the world that you can't legislate what's in peoples heart, white people hating black people, black people hating white people, Mexicans hating Colombians, Colombians hating Mexicans, Jews hating Arabs, Arabs hating Jews, Hutu hating Tutsi. They should die in a chair, do you want to torture them first? If they were two black men who ambushed this poor guy for more base reasons (he insulted them, or threatened them, or owed them money, or they were just looking to rob him) you would punish them less?

S but E was about the government denying access to services. People were being denied equal protection under the law. It didn't legislate that hating people and not wanting to sell them a wedding cake was a crime.
