I respect the strategists behind them, and think the Dems should definitely be taking a look at bringing them into the fold. Sure, they are mercs who won campaigns for some real awful elected officials, but I prefer that to Dem strategists who lost campaigns for good people. Dems need more of a killer instinct.

It's like when the Knicks finally got Kenyon Martin.

I mean, killer instinct is the most accurate word here. Keep the dudes at arms' length imo. It's not like they just got Bush elected and everything else just happened. They were there in that administration while lies got us into Iraq, a surveillance apparatus formed and waterboarding was happening at black sites. Just feels Faustian to me, bound to backfire when these fools have enough cash to try and influence things down the line.

Oh, I agree. Which is why I am saying Dems should bring them in now when they are free agents, before they head back behind enemy lines.

Biden released a new climate policy

https://joebiden.com/clean-energy/

I like that it's much more aggressive than his old policy, spending more money in less than half the time, reducing the net-zero electricity plant emissions in 2050 to 100% clean energy by 2035

That's been the main thing with me, I don't think his ideas are bad, per se, I just don't think he goes far enough with a lot of them, but it does look like he's willing to be more progressive on some policies, so that's good
BaF Lakers:

Nikola Topic/Kasparas Jakucionis
VJ Edgecombe/Jrue Holiday
Shaedon Sharpe/Cedric Coward
Kyle Filipowski/Collin Murray-Boyles
Alex Sarr/Clint Capela

Bench: Malcolm Brogdon/Hansen Yang/Rocco Zikarsky/RJ Luis Jr.

The old thread got too long after some very aged posters started duking it out.

Now back to how Biden is a corporate shill.

True. Because Republicans would never do such a thing.

LMAO, what difference does it make? The same issues still exist and you're left with the same choices we have. What does being an "independent" mean, anyhow? Are you really considering voting for the republican?

Are you for M4A or against it?

Are you for the Green New Deal or are you against it?

Are you for police reform or against it?

I may not like either party but make no mistake I would never vote for trump.

Pop/Kerr 2020 8-)

But seriously I’m voting for Biden.

Sure, there’s no other real choice. But now you have me considering writing in Pop/Kerr.

Mark Cuban and The Rock running Independent win this election by what %?

CubanRock 50%
Trump 29%
Biden 20%
Other Random Turds 1%

I don't mind them cashing in on anti-Trump animosity, it's certainly helpful. But I just hope people don't forget where these grifters came from. The praise they've gotten feels a bit much to me.

I don't have to be told who they are. Rick Wilson was dog whistling for the GOP before he became a Never Trumper.

I'm glad they're helping to defeat Trump, but there is no reason to believe they won't go back to hustling for right wingers again or at least will be for sale to the highest bidder in the future

Their ads are well done. Trump deserves the worst to be thrown at him so these guys are the best to do it. The GOP has been slaying Democrats with attack ads for decades.

And that's all that I ask. As long as everyone remembers, these dudes weren't just running attack ads and the attack ads were built on fear mongering towards marginalized people pretty damned often. They're useful, but they're not idiots. They know what they're doing and will turn on a dime. Let them work Trump over, but keep them as far away from having voices and influence with our side of things as possible after that.

there's this sort of "the enemy of my enemy is my friend" mindset going on with them that is very troubling

It got the Jay Inslee stamp of approval.

“This is not a status quo plan,” said Gov. Jay Inslee of Washington, a prominent environmentalist who ran a climate-focused campaign for the Democratic presidential nomination and later endorsed Mr. Biden.

He added: “It is comprehensive. This is not some sort of, ‘Let me just throw a bone to those who care about climate change.’” Mr. Inslee called the proposal “visionary.”
