Randle actually played much better after we fired Fiz. And he was a solid player on the Pelicans/Lakers. It made no sense to trade Randle for Batum. Sorry.

You don't max him but you pick up his 20 million option if he puts up 23/9/6.

Rewatch our last game. He was grining out there with the kids.

It wasn't just about Randle for Batum. It was draft capital...cap space...fit with the draft pick. Developing youth together in the court. Not thinking Randle was gonna be here or worth keeping. Batum was just because it seemed likely it could happen. The media was pumping it up.

You actually said so yourself about Obi that it made sense. So...why the change of heart? Because you Stanned for him and he had three good games?

Whenever Obi looks ready to start, Rose is probably going to open those minutes up for him, regardless of how well Julius is playing...so Julius' form most likely only changes how much more Obi can learn from him before needing to start, and what we can get in return for him in a trade.

Y’all was proposing to trade Randle for Batum straight up or with a second round pick attached. It made absolutely no sense to do that. That’s selling super low on him.

I said it made sense to trade Randle. But not for garbage like you guys kept saying. Y’all was even willing to waive Randle.

Yeah, that trade would not have been about Randle as a player but more about playing time and draft capital. The person that actually gets affected by Randle the most is probably Knox. We all know Obi is most likely gonna get significant minutes but Knox needs a solid look at and Randle takes too many mins at the 4.

But with all that said, Randle has looked really good this year. If he continues like this, then we're gonna have a real decision between Obi and Knox (or Mitch if Randle continues playing some 5 and the right deal comes along).

No. Last year Randle (despite being this boards scapegoat) was a much better player than the corpse of Batum, who was also on an atrocious deal. You don't trade a better player, on a better contract for worse player, on a worse contract, without being compensated. Simple as that. Stupid people are just stupid I guess.

Really? You're another one of these people? Y'all this and y'all that. Most people wanted draft capital...player development for draft picks of our own ..and his low IQ spin cycle ball stopper BS to go away! Fact. Did people get crazy with it...sure because the frustrated feeling if not again with one year players. NO ONE HERE saw him playing like this. People acting like he has arrived after 3 fuggin games are the "stupid" people. Pump the breaks.

I'm also sure anyone who wanted him gone would give him props right now too. KNOWING it is only three games....those same people will wait and see. Like smart people do.

Randle played like this on the Pelicans and played much better under Miller. But you only remember the Fiz version of Randle. So you’re wrong. Again.

Trading Randle for Batum and a second round pick makes zero sense. Who trades a solid player for complete garbage? Don’t give me the “player development” bull schit excuse. That trade would’ve looked terrible right now and it’s a “lol Knicks” move. No matter how much you try to spin it. You holding an L.

Keep moving goalposts dude. You blanket statement things and you're lying the whole time. People wanted first rd pick and/or multiple second rd picks....they didn't even solely want BATUM deal made. Rozier was mentioned...Hield...etc.... they just wanted a deal that brought back solid capital and opened up room on the roster...because we just drafted Obi and Knox needed to play as well as whoever else wasn't a fuggin spin cycle turnover machine with empty stats. Because that's what he was for the ENTIRE season.

As for how Randle played after Fix...it wasn't some mind blowing different player like we are seeing now...after THREE GAMES!!

Lol you must have terrible memory if you think people wasn’t trying to trade Randle for Batum straight up or didn’t want to cut him. Now all of sudden all of us wanted to trade him for Buddy Hield? Lmfaoo. You out here tryna move the goal posts. And trading Randle for second round picks is just as bad. So you making yourself look dumb. But go off I guess.

And yes Randle was playing more or else like this under the Pelicans and under Miller. Go watch some games.

Randle looking good making the Obi pick look stupider by the second.

Or Maybe Thibs goes all "new age NBA no defense" and decides to roll with Randle\Obi, in which case, it's either goodbye Mitch, or bench player forever Mitch.

Then again, lots of good teams have had pretty good players come off the bench and get big minutes

Julous is growing into a featured role. He was off the bench previously not even a starter let alone a centrepiece. He clearly put in the work on his own. Hr changed his body And that is before Thibs was hired. He is clearly making a concerted effortnto pass the ball and hit cutters. He is giving us production from the jump and is proving to be a good front court player. He's not too far off being like what Stat was for us and kinda plays like an earthbound Zion.

I think it makes more sense Obi becomes Randle off the bench. You can have depth. And it seems unlikely this year that Toppin becomes ready to be a starter with even less prqctice time this year.

I was a supporter of signing Randle based on what I'd seen of him, to winding up disliking him, to being cautiously optimistic.

Even when last year looked a mess, always thought a better coach that Fizzle would make Randle look better.
Hell, he looked better under Miller and Miller didn't get an offseason/camp/pick his own staff

Thibs is here with a rep for no nonsense, better schemes, even on offense, and a coaching staff that has Kenny MAX Payne, who by all accounts is a good, hardworking coach who also happens to have a connection with Randle.

Hope he plays well, gets us an asset or makes for difficult decisions around Obi\Randle\Mitch.

Makes me question the Obi pick though.
