Its ironic that all these comdedians have passed yet Artie Lang is still alive an kicking...

Crazy that Artie is still here. He out his body through a lot.

I think he must have Keith Richards level bullet proof antinarcotics genes.

Did you ever read his autobiography, "Keef"? I haven't (it's long been on my list) but I heard/read stuff around the time of its release that while Richards went through his heavy drug period, the reputation is more for PR than the truth. I know for a fact that Richards, Ronnie Wood, and Bobby Keys (legendary sax player) were still doing blow in late 90s-early 2000s because I knew the guy (a waiter from Bookbinder's Seafood and Steak House) who got it for them.

I remember Joe Walsh, the guitarist, being completely smashed on Howard Stern's morning radio show after being up all night. Walsh really cleaned up his act and looks like a million bucks. And his playing/singing are still great. I think you're right ... but only to a point. It all catches up with them at the end.

My uncle, a corporate executive with TWA and then ran the Travel Channel for awhile, just died last week from heart failure at 73-4. There are four older siblings of his, including my mom at 91, who are still alive. The reason why? He abused his body with Camel non-filtered cigarettes, whiskey, cocaine, and never worked out. He had at least 3 or 4 bypasses and eventually a pacemaker put in. He had is issues. Clearly.

Norm Macdonald is one of my favorite comedians ever and this news hit me very hard. I am still feeling bad days later. It's weird to feel like this for someone you never knew but Norm was like the type of guy you just never imagined dying. You just felt like he would be around till he was an old man.

I can't believe he had cancer the last 8-9 years and still performed. He had his podcast, appeared on talk shows, wrote a book, etc. The man is a legend. God bless him. I will miss him and his comedic timing dearly. There was nobody quite like him.

There are so many timeless classics on Youtube to go back and enjoy.

YeahI think there's a definite genetic factor but environment also plays a part too ..I think. Renumber that trainer from "The Biggest Loser" ? As fit as he was he still had a heart attack in his late forties ...? Heart attacks run in his family.

Then you have George Burns who smoked almostt til the end and he makes it to his late 90's.

My favorite overall comedian. Would likely take prime Chappelle if we are talking strictly standup. But Norm was my overall favorite when you include his SNL work, interviews, general sh*t talking, etc. Really, just so funny and smart.

He and Conan helped craft my sense of humor.

I have watched a lot of his videos over the past couple of years, and even did so a couple of days before his passing.

I didn't realize so many people also loved him. I'm happy to see that. He was brilliant.

Thank you, Norm.
