I mean, this had to be known by someone in that office before he signed. Something new must have popped off.

Right...I mean there's got to me more than...Mark Jackson wanted to get on a charter plane...your fired! If there was a pre- existing beef why hire him in the first place?

From the outside looking in, it appears it was an MSG Networks decision to hire him. That is an entirely separate entity, not operated by the Knicks front office.

Leon Rose deciding to keep Mark Jackson away from the team (chartered flights, hotels, bus, etc.) indicates they did not want him around the team, potentially interacting with the players (perhaps fears of potential attempts to undermine the coaching staff).

I’m sure background checks dug up the Jackson / Erman workplace history but maybe being banned from the team, or having to fly on commercial flights, staying at separate hotels ended up being a deal-breaker for Jackson.

Yeah. Why even hire him in the first place?

Did they really fire him because he wanted to use the chartered plane lol?

feels like that woulda been/shoulda been fleshed out. Also something that people would be able to work around.

NGL, it would have been nice to have a former Knicks point guard calling games for us.

Right, I know a lot of people don't like Mark Jackson, but it kinda rubs me the wrong way because is after all he's former Knick...and a pretty important one too.

That's what I see.

And I see it as a great sign. Knicks effectively vetoed MSG and chose a basketball guy over a hometown hero with toxic past.

There's some dark **** in Mark's corner, IDK. There's got to be something wild beyond his religious affiliation and noone wants any part of it.

Rose had to battle some other high-ranking executives at MSG who made this particularly good publicity hiring.

Rose finally convinced them otherwise....intriguing.

They both suck ass. No reason to go from **** to a bigger pile of ****. I don't want either but, Jackson is worse than Wally all the way around.

Yes. He's not good at it. Wally is a half a percentage point better. Why bother? Gus did a good job filling in. Keep him. I hate Wally too. Hopefully he's the next one gone.
