Re: WWIII Thread
Out of curiosity...
Do folks on this board realize that the majority of Iranians support Israel and not their own government? Likewise, were you guys aware that there's been large celebrations in Lebanon and Syria when they announced that Israel had taken out Nasrallah?
Just want to see what the media has been showing (or not showing) folks.

As far as WWIII? It's more Wild West than World War at the moment.

I fully understand that the Iranian government is run by ass holes that shoot their own people.
Two things are true though:
1) The Iranian government sucks
2) Callling for restraint and a peaceful resolution is the most sane and prudent option because a war with Iran completely turns the entire region to sh*t.
Biden just letting this devolve into a full blown regional war is craziness. We can't support this.
We watched Ukrainians get massacred by the Russians and the IDF massacred thousands of Palestinians. Why are we only imposing hard restraints on one ally and not the other?
Israel needs to fall back. Bibi is the one who is making everything worse
No one in NATO or the EU from what I've seen is supporting a war with Iran.

Just my 2 cents. Not that this war isn't serious, but it's probably not WWIII. It's just missiles so far, no invading armies.
Am I wrong?
If we have to equate it to WWII... I'm guessing that the Russia Ukraine war is kind of the preamble to WWIII just like the Spain Civil War was to WWII. So I think the goal with Russia is to take them out or weaken them as much as possible so they can't support or be a part of a WW3 in the Middle East
It definitely looks like WW3 is on the horizon. And it looks like the Middle East will be the main front.
Just my IMO
Then there's China and Taiwan. But all those semiconductor/chip factories are set to denote if China does a full invasion. So I'm not sure exactly China wants that.
Russia can't be Ukraine. I doubt they could beat New Mexico. And we have 49 more states after that.

I'm looking at land:

As it stands, if there was a "Peace Deal", Russia has expanded their borders by a good amount.
I know Ukraine is winning battles. But you can still win battles and lose the war. USA has done what it can, but I think Europe is the one failing Ukraine.

Re: WWIII Thread
I think one thing to realize is that Russia has been at war with a lot of countries, including America, for a while now. I think the official term is hybrid warfare.
Surprised to see that China hasn't been mentioned in this thread yet. Something stupid can happen if the countries aren't communicating. To strengthen ties, I propose moving the Nets franchise over there.

From what I read, the main motive with Taiwan would be getting all their semiconductor/chip plants. But those are set to denote if China does a full invasion.
USA probably have more time here.

attributed to Stalin—“a single death is a tragedy, a million deaths are a statistic.
Well, he was right about one thing.
Same applies to the Russian soldiers attacking Ukraine; even their own side doesn't care about them.

Supposedly they're moving chip plants to the US now.

They are. But I don't think it's really the advanced chips. At least not yet.
I used to follow this industry more. But IIRC, it's something like...
- It takes about 5 years to get these plants up and going. It's not it's just moving a warehouse.
- Secondly, Taiwan Semiconductors, isn't moving/opening their advanced fabs in the US. If they can make 2 and 3nm chps in Taiwan, they are only going to move their 5nm and 7nm chip plants to the US.
Taiwan uses this as leverage to gain protection from the USA, should China actually invade.
A theory I read, is like there will be a "gentleman's agreement" between China and USA, where basically once the plants/fabs are moved, Taiwan is open to China for the taking. But this theory doesn't hold water to me, because China wants the competitive edge in the world. And they won't have it if they don't have Taiwan's most advanced chips.

Most Americans don't want war. Why are our leaders listening to this due? He was wrong before, and he will be wrong again.

Low key the knicks winning the chip, could be a foretold sign of the end of human civilization. Nobody on this board should be surprised.
Knicks lead by 5 with 10 seconds left on the clock in game 7 against OKC...
