I don't know why everyone is taking these March games so seriously. We are pretty much locked at the 3rd seed and we don't have our best player. I don't think these games will matter when it's game 1 at the Garden against Detroit, Indiana or Milwaukee.

Everyone should know this team by now and it's ceiling and I'm sorry, playing Kolek or Beachamp isn't going to move the needle this season. And you're not firing the coach with 13 games left either.

If we lose in the first round at full strength or get badly swept by Boston then yeah, I can see major changes happening in the offseason but this team is what we have right now and not much is changing.

Blaming the coach for everything and complaining about not playing the 11th man is what every fan base does. It’s basic bitch analysis. Y’all are all white b*tches in sweatpants and uggs.

The criticisms of Tom are valid though, I dunno why people are pretending that he's doing a great job when he is consistently outclassed by opposing coaches who aren't stuck in 2004.

even so, i blame the players for having no heart whether or not the coach has lost them

I like to take it further down the line - I blame the toxic fans specifically meLo.

Nah, but for real it's a Leon problem he gave a guy who likes to drive a 4wd truck a sports car. Sht doesn't work. And now we're blaming the driver or the car. When they shouldn't be together.

But this shouldn't distract from meLo being the worst.

I have no clue, tbh. I didn't think Dolan would allow randle to be moved cause they seemed tight. What it comes down to for me is I don't think this man is loyal to anyone but himself. He isn't going to let a lifelong friendship get in the way of business.

I can't fall back in to this mindset. Rooting for losses was so draining all of those years. Especially since we could never even tank properly. Like, DAMN WE WON AGAIN!!

If we lose or play down to this team though, Thibs seat should be hotter than lava. Brunson or not, we should not be getting completely outplayed by tanking teams.

Watch out for Tristan Vukcevic as the next bench player to light up the Knicks.
I will only cherish the wins and ignore everything else, because that's the only way to survive as a Knicks fan.

I can sorta back this take. We really don't know what the issues are but, something doesn't feel right. My only contention is, are they supposed to commit mutiny? Kinda seems like they are tired of the way things are going. That still falls on the coach IMO. If we were cruising and hit a wall losing Brunson that would be forgivable. We were not. We were a different team the last 7 weeks. Looking burned out and disjointed.

Players fault vs coaches fault is the current board war. I can buy into the simple logic that it is a combination of both but, my take is that it is more a coaching problem than a talent issue.

Led us out of the mud into a treadmill team..... Also its hard to say the bones are bad when the are playing in the wrong positions.

Thibs coaches the knicks to the ECF he deserves to stay. If they flame out in either the first or second round, its time to go in a new direction.

so based on their roster and our roster we're supposed to beat the celtics in round 2 ? because nobody who analyzes basketball for a living would pick us over them

Guan0, as your psychotic running mate would say, be better.

We all know this comes down to, we're not kids. People unhappy with the roster want to absolve Tom of any blame, because it hurts their point to say the coach isn't maximizing the roster. You can shove data, clips, minutes, history etc into the discussion and it all gets tossed out the window. The previous argument was that minutes didn't matter until Mikal blew the whistle and we've seen that one quiet down. It's why you see wild strawmans, like saying we need a new coach means you think the roster as is could win a title this year, no but I don't want to retool the team and go into next season with the same brain-dead coach that plays 8 guys every single season.

The biggest hole in the "keep Thibs" argument is the losing record against .500 or better teams since he's been here, multiple rosters, with the only constant being him, and the same problems persisting - Short rotations, no offensive scheme, not enough threes, INJURIES AROUND PLAYOFF time. Who gives a damn who gets you out the mud, they aren't retiring JB Bickerstaff's track suit in Cleveland.

Never forget the "minutes don't matter" arguments from the very same people. Thank you again Mikal

The fact is it is not ok to run this roster back with this coach who showed a lack of willingness to adjust to this roster strengths and weaknesses through the season. Blaming it on the roster completely takes away Thibs agency in how that roster was deployed.

There is always some excuse for why we shouldn't hold Thibs accountable.... Randle needs help (when Trae damn near beat the knicks by himself, cause Thibs let him hide defensively on Bullock) or oh no one can stop Jimmy (until he was stopped), or everyone got injured before the indy series (because everyone was tired), now its..... well we have no chance to beat the Celtics (because we can't defend the 3 from anybody). The knicks have given Thibs multiple rosters and he hasn't even gotten to the ECF yet with none of then,

At what point does anyone say.... maybe the regular season record doesn't matter if we cant get past the second round?

Thibs job security will be determined by the playoffs. I don't know why everyone is fussing about the regular season, which, granted, there are reasons to dislike him, but none of this will matter if NYK has a good playoff run. That's where the decision will be made, if Leon makes it at all.

As for tonight's game. NY is home. I think they should comfortably handle the Wiz. Maybe it's close, but I'd bet NY wins this one.
