Kat, you’ve been in the league for 11 years now.
This is your moment to give your team what they need. You can play better defense. I’ve never seen OG get upset like that with another player.
Look in the mirror. It’s time for you to take full responsibility. Remember when Antman told you to stop fouling?
Stop worrying about the refs giving you calls. Just play. Don’t even play for or look for a foul.
You can do this if you accept responsibility and get it done!

As to OG’s feelings, he had been my favorite Knick but screw him.

Agree with you message to KAT though. I have seen him play glimpses of good defense, even in the clutch. Between our two all-stars, KAT has to be the one to step up as JB is totally incapable and limited here.

But the team has to empower KAT more on offense. It is as if the coaches are afraid that someone else rather than JB would win the ECF MVP. Well, no one is winning that award from our team now with the way Carlisle has been coaching circles around Thibs.

In yesterday’s PG thread there are quote from Hart -he talks directly to Kat about how they need him to do his part on defense and offense so the team is empowering him.

Has far as OG- I just think OG got tired of having to cover for Kat in general - this has probably been going on all season. You can tell that OG is not the conflict type. This is why I’m giving him the benefit of doubt.

Some perspective:

-Back to back 50 win seasons since forever
-Legit top 5 player locked up (Brunson)
-First ECF trip in 25 years
-Knocked off reigning champs against all odds
-Expected to be a top 3 seed again next season
-Core locked up for years
-This series is not quite over yet
-NY is finally a legit “star” destination again
-Coaching change could get us to 60 wins

The present and future is bright. We could be a very good team for a very long time.

This is interesting because this forces haliburton on Mikal and then Nembhard on OG who has a huge size and strength advantage.

KAT just needs to stay out of foul trouble on siakam

listen, the wolves had this guy for years. they know what he can and can't do. they traded everything they had for the guy who was the best defensive center in basketball at the time for a reason. you can't win with him starting there. this is not new information. everybody conveniently forgot when we traded for him.

if he's here next year, they need to have a 2nd center and almost never play him there. maybe it's huk. maybe it's someone we get for the mle. i don't know. but it can't be him. maybe horford will take the tax payers mle for a year to be the backup center.

When we have KAT & Mikal going off early, we do well. Let Brunson be more of a floor general b/c we’ve seen that doesn’t stop him from putting up big numbers.

Siakam gave everybody the work in GM 2 - except for Mitch who held him to 1-3

I have long advocated for Josh to come off the bench since back in Nov cuz his fit with Mikal and OG was clunky due to his inability to shoot, and here we are 6 months later it will come to fruition

Josh will play starter minutes anyway, and his being on the bench will boost the bench productivity

Josh on the bench will give more touches to OG and esp Mikal who is a very underrated (imo excellent) playmaker, can create his own shots and assist for his teammates

yeah then unfortunately he'll be more naturally matched up with a wing playing the 4 and will not be the same offensive player. this is the KAT experience.
